I traded my gas hog 2019 Tacoma for a 24 maverick hybrid which is getting 55mpg in mixed driving. I will check again at some point with city only and with expectations of 60 plus mpg.
The trouble with all the “high mpg” trucks is if you pull anything with them your mileage drops to like 7mpg. It’s amazing how “zippy” they can make them and yet they have no power pulling stuff. You have to decide when you buy if you are looking for “mileage” or a truck you can actually do something with.

I can haul bikes, kayaks, fishing rods and coolers, which is all I used the Toyota for.

Fuel cell electric truck maker lays off 135 to preserve financial runway

The Phoenix-based company on Wednesday laid off about 135 employees, roughly 15% of its workforce, amid a persistent cash crunch with little room to sell more stock as its price slides. Nikola laid off 270 employees in June 2023 and 100 in November 2022.

“To extend our runway, we are adjusting and rescaling our staffing needs,” CEO Steve Girsky said in a statement. “This is a difficult, but necessary, decision and we thank those team members who helped build Nikola and wish them the best moving forward.”

america again in a league of its own with deaths per capita. why is it higher than georgia where they drive much more dangerously? be careful of your love of private automobiles, you are signing your own death warrant. next worst western country is new zealand with 7.8 - much lower than america.

I'm surprised Russia isn't the leader. Al the crazy vehicle accidents shown on YouTube seem to be from Russia.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

of course this is all avoided by luxurious public transit. when i was in spain, i took a public bus from barcelona to salou and it took about an hour it had many stops en route and nice seats but i would say the problem is the luggage was down below so if you want to be paranoid you have to get off the bus at every stop to check your bags. car prices are :censored2:ing expensive in UK check it out on numbeo.
