Only 5% of next car purchasers expect to buy all electric cars-Road and Track.

Jokes aside, EVs are far less likely to catch fire than ICE vehicles. This myth that has long been peddled is simply because every EV fire makes the news, no ICE vehicle fires do. It's not even close, gas cars are 20-80 times as more likely to combust.
But you need a lake of water to put out a lithium battery that’s on fire

That is certainly a problem but the statistic is 5 fires per billion EV miles traveled. Tesla has had 393 worldwide fires out of 6,000,000 sold vehicles is 2012. People talk like 1 out of 10 EV's go up in flames.

That’s probably true but when an EV catches fire, it’s not a regular fire. It’s very hard to put out and it’s the hottest fire you could ever imagine.

Percentage wise, I’d bet that EVs are more likely to catch fire and burn your house down along with it. Many, many more ice vehicles on the road.

Fire risk for mileage can be misleading since EV's average fewer miles. And yeah also more likely to catch fire while sitting in your garage.

The stats are based on comparing their own categories. % of ev fires per EVs sold, % of ICE fires vs ICE vehicles sold. So while there are 5 fires per billion EV miles as stated earlier, there's 55 fires per billion ICE miles driven. There's numerous ways a gas car can catch fire while an EV only catches fires from an extremely rear battery cell defect.

The EVs that got exposed to salt water caught fire too.

You twisted the facts a little bit, when ev's catch fire they are complete disasters. You can't put them out, and they usually destroy the road where they burn.

I didn't twist facts, that's a separate fact. It's a fact that EVs are far less likely to catch fire and it is also a fact that EV fires are much more serious.

Just like one can say that EVs are much better for the environment and also worse in some ways.

Bottom line, EVs suck

- usually much faster, instant torque, no gear
shifting
- very little maintenance
- actually save time refueling (charge
overnight 95-99% of time)
- more storage and cabin space
- cheaper to run
- runs silent (some people like loud engines,
many of us prefer stealth).
- immediate heat (no warmup needed)

And worry about charging on a long trip.

How is using at least 50,000 gallons of water to extinguish an EV vehicle fire good for the environment ?

You thumbed down facts LOL.

EV range outlasts your bladder. It takes 20 minutes to charge. At charging intervals, you are ready to eat or go to the restroom, stretch or whatever.
I thumb down EVs. Buy one if you want one, and they still suck. Cold weather or hot weather is a problem for batteries too. Good luck Mr stealth

That's fine. I just like them for all of their benefits. I could care less about environmental factors. I just enjoy the tech aspect of them. It's also too bad it's political. I'm as conservative as they come but love EVs. It's the government push for them that made an energy source political.
