OSHA Heat Rule-making Progress Being Made

TheBrownNote

Good thing I wore my brown pants
I believe 100% in the need for OSHA.

Is this a good starting point?
What would you day If the company enforced 1 quart an hour, in those warranted conditions, and then disciplined the drivers who didn't drink the required 3 gallons a day.
That's too much water.

I would not support the company enforcing any minimum quantity of water. The proposed rule doesn’t seem to support this either. Doesn’t change what UPS is obligated to provide.

(2) Drinking water. The employer must provide access to potable water for
drinking that is:
(i) Placed in locations readily accessible to the employee;
(ii) Suitably cool; and
(iii) Of sufficient quantity to provide access to 1 quart of drinking water per
employee per hour.

You don't understand the term PROPOSED?
The water is on the corner of 5th and Main...
There! Compliance with the proposed rule that won't apply to mobile employees

I know we’ve been over this, but I simply disagree with you.

Ice machines and drinking fountains are at work. Unlimited water and ice, and we even got a Coleman jug.

All of those conditions are met by my understanding.

I won’t convince you, but likewise, you won’t convince me that UPS “lacks integrity” for not interpreting that language the way that YOU are.

We had a driver get a new truck. The air was cooler than usual but was it real air-conditioned. It was semi-air conditioned. An on going story to look out for.
