The problem plagued (pressurization and engines) B29 did not come online until late 1944. A fully loaded B29 from San Francisco would have have had to make a 3200 mile trip to Midway into a westerly headwind deliver it's payload and fly another 3200 miles back to San Francisco. given it's reliability problems how many do you think would have made it to Midway let along making it back? A BTW the bomb didn't become operation until nearly 4 years after the war started.
When the US entered WWII it had total strength of 200,000 while at the same time Japan's army and navy alone had a combined strength of more than 750,000 and was the world's third largest navy. So get real man. Crippled by the worst depression in it's history and attacked on two fronts by 3 hostile nations the American representative democracy found itself in it's greatest peril in it's history.

It would appear that you didn't know that the communists fought on the side of the Allies and lost 25 million of it's own population. Look Bud, I'm no World War II professional historian. At the same time however I maintain 3 paid subscriptions 1 online and 2 in print. All 3 are exclusively devoted to World War II. If you were to do the same I guarantee you that you would be surprised if not shocked at the events that took place between 1929 and 1945.

Drive around some rural areas in tn it isn’t minorities getting most of the assistance. Plenty of white people play the system getting tencare, food stamps and many other programs some really need it some are just lazy. Most of the money used in those programs come from blue states. Tn loves to gives tax breaks to companies to bring in new jobs but the jobs pay below what it cost to live In the area.

FDR's predecessor was Republican Herbert Hoover . The Great Depression happened on his watch. He had 3 years to pull the country out of it but did basically nothing. Four attempts and the GOP still couldn't beat FDR including the fourth time when they couldn't even defeat Roosevelt despite the well known fact that the man was dying .
Indeed, as you said the US was rolling at the END of the war. But the BEGINNING two years we were outmanned, out gunned and the odds were not in our favor.

He was the copilot on a B24. 51 missions out of Italy with the XV. He also got quite a little bit of time on a B29 as the XV was preparing to be deployed to the Pacific. He said that it was enormous leap in airplane design but a very troublesome and marginally reliable aircraft as evidenced by records showing that of the 414 B29's lost in WWII 267 of them were lost to engine fires. Doubts about the plane were so abundant that the less technologically advanced B32 was entering production with some early models flying missions. So sending a B29 on a suicide mission to Midway there's a good chance it would have caught on fire and crashed long before it got there. So much for that big idea of yours.
No doubt. I've lived in TN in two cities for 4 years. The question is, do you take the jobs offered(as in TN giving breaks), or do you tell people needing jobs that they'll just have to do without because you(the government) know what's best for them and you're not going to get companies to come in if you deem the jobs too low paying? As far as I'm concerned if local jobs are crap then move to where they pay better. That may mean higher living costs. Worse weather. People should individually weigh pros and cons instead of having government dictate how they'll live their lives.
