Part time just hired... is overtime mandatory?

When working after your normal part time shift are we allowed more then the 10 min break?

When your getting 10 min break or sometimes none at all that "gift" isn't exactly a great gift.

Back when I worked P/T, and granted, it was a long time ago, and things sometimes change, you did have to work over sometimes to make service commitments. They should have told you this when you hired on. And back then, if you worked over 5 hours, you got another 10 minute break. Your results may vary. Ask your stewart.

No. I have worked 10 hours with just a 10 minute break. Most of the time it depends on the sup or manager.

The contract and state law only apply if you force the issue. Otherwise management can do whatever they want to.

I would just keep my mouth shut and work for the first few months.

But what if nothing changes... now I've allowed something that's wrong to go on and I am to blame.

It will be said "why didn't I complain before"

Not a bad worker.. not unappreciative.. I just think it's wrong. People may say oh the next person is ready and willing to take my positions and be grateful. It's just not about that. What's wrong is Wrong and what's right is right.
