a lawn at the campus of Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta yesterday.

This is definitely a cool image - nice subject, selective focus, just right blur and good crop.
The walker is a good example of "the decisive moment".
David probably stationed himself in this position until he got this one (and only one) figure in that position in the frame.
I have seen David shooting at a couple of events around the Atlanta area and spent time observing him.
He is very experienced and he influenced my "hunting" for the shot and proper holding of the camera to get a sharp image.
He mostly shoots (as probably with this shot) kneeling and locking in his body parts so they are all touching which creates a stable platform.
If you ever get a chance to be around these AP photographers, spend some time just watching them.
