Well in his case I think he said he gets along with his management. That makes a big difference lol. That wasn't going to happen---too late--damage had been done.

My last day was business as usual, I was the preload shifter and I did the same as every other day just because. I wasn't going to be a dick and good thing because my preload manager helped me big time with my suckass Teamster/UPS pension issue. I'm a firm believer in don't step on the toes that are connected to the ass you may have to kiss one day.2 more days!!! Don't know what to say besides it's still stressful just finishing up the week. Why I don't know ---but it still feels I should do my job as I always did. I think it be easier if I didnt like by management team. If it was between me and UPS it been SVD and sick days all week. Things I noticed many are supportive , a few got the Im leaving to soon due to age, wait for the more money, now the feeder network has the buyout for full-time first of the year rumor flying around. I see as of now it's for pilots and mangers as of now. Anyway I am still determined I made the right decision at 51. I can pay my bills , still invest in my roth and if need be pick up side jobs for hobbies if need more. I never ever ever ever thought retiring would be such a decision making experience.
Words to live by. As much as you want to blow torch your way out, don’t. It’s only a temporary feel good moment. You never know if you can use those A holes in the future so don’t do it.My last day was business as usual, I was the preload shifter and I did the same as every other day just because. I really don’t care if the bldg burns to theGood for me I didn’t like the job, I didn’t really like management but had no problems with them. I was the guy that got into work a few minutes before work and left as soon as I punched out. I wanted to be with my family not UPS people so I never made real “friends” at work. I woke up one day after 39 years and told my wife this is it, I can’t see myself doing this any longer and I started the paperwork to retire. I was 57. That was 4 1/2 years ago and there is NOTHING I miss about that place. I still do not know how I made it that long. Enjoy the 1st year. Everyday will be a 1st. Keep healthy and rack up that pension money! Congratulations![]()

pusillanimousI really don’t care if the bldg burns to thein ground. Pretty much everybody I cared about has retired. The rest can lose their souls, they’re animals anyway.
By the time I left, I was pretty much left alone. Can’t say they knew better or were afraid of me, but they were aware that I was a spiteful bastard.pusillanimous
I’m leaving out of here on a rail of friend bombs and kiss my asses!

Fight fire with fire. They made me what I became. Vinnie is right, they never ever cared about us. When they had founders day or spoke about how UPSers meant so much them, I wanted to puke. I never worried about numbers and I took a day off whenever I felt like it.
Vinny is a colorful character I don’t always agree with him, but I think his heart is in the right place most of the time. He’s a Union Man. And he loves to give the company hell.Fight fire with fire. They made me what I became. Vinnie is right, they never ever cared about us. To each is there own Pal and more power to you if that's how you want to end it, that was not my choice and I was glad I didn't because it likely would've cost me my first pension check because GOD knows my local did absolutely nothing to help me those POS.pusillanimous

UPS is the only company I’ve ever worked for that resented its employees. Just units to them.Vinny is a colorful character I don’t always agree with him, but I think his heart is in the right place most of the time. He’s a Union Man. And he loves to give the company hell.
There’s some decent management people around, but most of them definitely resent. It’s part of the culture in management. And even the good ones when push comes to shove will throw you off the bridge if it’s to save their hide.UPS is the only company I’ve ever worked for that resented its employees. Just units to them.
Damn kidsEven 40! What a quitter
