I have to admit I'm shocked to see the big left swing out of these candidates. Dems usually hide these beliefs and pretend to be middle of the road.

That's what I'm worried about. That the visceral reaction over Trump being a misogynist, narcissistic makes Democratic candidates feel safe to run hard to the left. That will not win them a national election. Especially if the economy remains strong into next year.

They think after the Bernie Sanders support in 2016 it's time to be open about it, that the base is there. And the anti-Trump sentiment is so high they don't have to play it down in the general election. So if they win the presidency they believe they'll have a mandate to implement socialism. After the antics of several freshman congresswomen the Repubs on the other hand have a shot at regaining the House. Would be interesting to watch an openly socialist president sparring with a capitalist Congress but hopefully Trump hangs on.
