President Trump

Wow, you’re dense.

‘Those products’ are products produced by American manufacturers that are getting slammed by tariffs.

Whether you like it or not, there are American manufacturers that ship unfinished steel goods back and forth to China...

They’re getting hammered.

Just like cars are made from parts built in America, Mexico, and Turkey.

‘Those products’ aren’t Chinese products, dumbasz, they’re as often as not American products made by American manufacturers.

Trump is trying to Make it American, and he’s screwing Americans in the process.
The tariffs are going on products Chinese manufacturers make under license to American companies, among others. If the prices on those products go up, less are bought in America. If the demand goes down the Chinese make less money. We're their single biggest market and they feel the bite. If you insist on demonstrating your ignorance I'm happy to accommodate you. Do Americans get affected? Sure do. But if we can correct a huge trade imbalance to a fair for everyone market the short term pain will be worth it. If you have complained about Americans losing jobs because companies moved their manufacturing to China and elsewhere then don't complain if someone is trying to fix that.

Soooo....

It’s a game of chicken?

China’s gonna win that game, they already have twenty/thirty/one hundred year games in place.

I love America, but Shi will be the dominant player as forever President of China.

Trump is playing checkers, Shi is playing Go.

I just don’t agree with Trump’s methods.

He made Millions while losing Billions.

Sad.

China needs us much more than we need them. So if enough pressure is applied they'll give in. Or they'll try to wait out Trump and hope that a weaker president will eventually appear.

That’s only going to be true for the next little bit.

Forget the next US Prez, or the next one after that: if the US can’t get it’s sht together, China is going to eat our lunch and dinner.

Trump is trying, good on him, but he’s failing...

How about we get an intelligent President with a mind for History and a clue?

A boy can hope...

If Trump manages to get them to make concessions will you admit he's doing well?

Sure, I absolutely will.

But, China isn’t going to do anything at the point of a gun.

It’s clear that Trump is an absolutely abysmal businessman.

Shi knows that.

Look at Trump’s history, as a businessman and as President...

He ratchets tension up, brings it to the brink, and backs off.

Everytime.

Shi is President for life, he’s gonna out wait Trump.

We’ll see.

So it's definitely going to work, unless it doesn't, in which case it's not Trump's fault......

A glimpse inside the mind of a Trump sheep. Thanks for the laughs friend.

So tariffs are a tax that American consumers pay?

It will be fine

He wrote off a lot of depreciation in real estate. That was a big part of his losses back then.
Fred Trump, the guy that actually built the fortune, still showed profits all those years on his real estate. So is the actual rich guy the bad businessman or his idiot son that lost more money than anyone else in the country?

If you look at the era you'll find that commercial real estate was doing very badly then. What matters is Trump turned it around and was very successful by the time he became president. I know it gives you something to glom onto, but ultimately he did well.

Tariffs are a temporary measure to penalize our competitors who don't play fair. Trump said he would level the playing field, part of bringing back jobs here by creating a bigger market for our products in China.

Who pays them? I mean Trump gave everyone a tax cut. Did he take it all back?

Commercial real estate was doing badly...I wonder who was financing Trump at that time?
