You can't pick it, but if you're a high seniority driver here it isn't very hard to get it off unpaid.

There are years when it is available and others when it isn't. All depends on where Christmas falls. This year it was available and I was able to get it.

In the Central, this week is available depending on where Christmas falls.

There are no vacations from the first Monday after Thanksgiving through December 25th.

So if Christmas falls on a Friday or Saturday, the whole week after Christmas is open for vacation.

If it falls on a Wednesday or Thursday, the following week is still open for vacations, but you will still have to work that day or two after Christmas to finish up the week.

If it on a Sunday or Monday, technically the week is not open for bid, Sunday begins the new week, but where I am, they allow it.

If it is on Tuesday, well, no vacations.

You can take the week between Christmas and New Years but only if Christmas Day doesn't fall in that week. So basically the week of New Years is available.
