In certain circumstances, yes. If a person lives in the country they should be able to have any kind of dog they want. If one lives in close proximity to people, no. I think pit bulls are beautiful dogs, and fortunately for me, I’ve never met one that wasn’t a sweet dog. Thing is, most dogs are sweet, until they aren’t.
That's the thing the second article is talking about banning one specific breed. Not all large dogs not all large Mastiffs not all Shepherds but one specific breed. It just so happens that one specific breed is owned by a lot of people of color. There are a lot of breeds that can be more dangerous than a pitbull but many of those are owned by mostly white people.
Just out of curiosity, do you own a dog?
Not at the moment but I have in the past.
There's probably more pit bulls than all those other breeds combined in country.

There's a website called pitbullinfo that says pitbulls make up 20% of all dogs in the U.S. Just from many years of residential deliveries that seems about right.
