Racism rears its ugly head

I graduated HS in the late 1960's, is that "the old days"?

I grew up in a working class/WWII GI neighborhood. Lots of people working in factories. We were taught to do better, and believed we had that chance.

My parents taught me everyone was equal, but everyone wasn't treated equally, and I should never do that. Every kid I grew up with felt the same. We were all raised to hope to have it better than our folks, to get educated, to not work in a factory. That's the American way.

Is that what you call

Guilty! If that's brainwashing, more of it would be better.

We called it Mid-Western values.

Strive to be better and help those who can use it.
You are a fortunate man indeed to have your parents raise you that way. What you were taught are traditional American values that are now being looked upon as racist by liberals.

By social justice I mean the whole DEI push, CRT, LGBTQ and whatever they come up with next.

Or picking qualified judges who represent their jurisdiction?
Except in many cases the best and brightest aren't picked but rather the ones who check off various categories. We have someone as vice-president who isn't qualified to run the country, but who checked off certain identity boxes. Insuring inclusion is fine as long as they are the best person for the job. Saying there are too many white men as commercial airline pilots, we must open the field to everyone, is fine as long as the female or minority male put in place is just as qualified. Otherwise corners on safety are being cut to satisfy some vision of equity and inclusion. I bring that up because some recent near misses are said to be due to both inexperienced pilots and air traffic controllers being put in place based on those type policies. Can almost guarantee that if several hundred people end up getting killed some numb skull will blame anything else before admitting those policies contributed to the accident. Or say that's the price we must be willing to pay for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Lower qualified personnel have been selected for positions for decades now.
I even see it at UPS.
I was told by HR that “we really wanted black females, preferably with a Disability” for a few certain Air positions.
She was being candid, but serious.
Good White people get passed over so a lesser-qualified black can get the job.
Then they get popped for using Coke or cheating on Expense Accounts down the line.

Every appointment Biden makes is done in Johnny Bravo mode. Qualifications are secondary. The most important thing is that the pick "fit the suit", that is, look a particular way, be of a certain sex or minority group.
