First of all, the civil war was not a war to free slaves. Secondly your analogy of one singular incident vs a crime committed against millions of people at a time when it was accepted by the white people in this country, simply doesn't compare. Now if the situation you have posted actually occurred and your family was targeted just because of your skin color, then you might understand.
