And have you seen the extensive footage of them milling about peacefully in the Capitol building? Remember that fellow who was wearing the outlandish outfit with the buffalo horns? The Jan 6 Commission claimed he was a violent insurrectionist who led the riot. He got sentenced to 7 years. Kevin McCarthy, when he became speaker, released over 20,000 hours of security footage (over the protests of the Commission). They painted a very different picture of the rioters. The riot started when Capitol police started firing rubber bullets into the front of the crowd, enraging them. Nothing could be found if the fellow with the horns doing anything violent. He strolled around the Capitol escorted by two policemen. Once that came out he was released from prison. And this demonstrates how people are manipulated by video and pictures. Just like the cover of the recent "New Yorker Magazine" that showed a bunch of dressed up young white adults and the article was saying that young MAGA supporters are all white, very suggestive that they're white supremacists. But they cropped the picture to leave out the blacks who were there too. This is what we're up against on the Right. The constant dishonest manipulations to turn people against conservatives. The liberals worst fear is Trump and Republicans will be successful running the country and keep them out of power. So expect plenty of lies, plenty of manipulations going forward.
Are you sure you’re not the one being manipulated by video? Yes I saw the video of them peacefully striding along inside of the building, and I also saw the video of them violently rioting and breaking into the building BEFORE they were peacefully walking around inside

Can you please just watch that video. You’re a pretty open minded guy. Just asking you to watch a 2 minute video

I've seen that video already. The violence on video is a very small part of total security footage. Another manipulation was showing Republican Senator Josh Hawley running through the Capitol. Jan 6 Commission showed that and joked about it that Hawley was scared and running for his life. A number of our forum libs made a lot of hay on that. The total release of the footage showed something different. Capitol police were escorting a large group of Congressmen and their aides to a secure area and Hawley was jogging to catch up. J6 Commission edited that group out.

By the way some poll came out yesterday that showed Democrats are the most unpopular they've ever been in polling. I suspect a lot of it is people have lost trust in them. Same for the liberal news channels. They are dying in the ratings.

Weird logic. I don’t think you’ve seen the video, you seem hesitatant to watch it and keep bringing up things not related.

It was a long event, just because the violent rioting wasn’t the entire time doesn’t take away from it

The vast majority of the blm protests were peaceful too. If you had security footage of the whole thing, I could say the same thing, most of it doesn’t show looting and rioting. Doesn’t take away from the looting and rioting that did happen

2.14% is indeed evidence that a few relative to the whole were charged.
For federal charges.

What % do you think would be acceptable for federal charges. Who were some charged and for what crimes that committed a federal crime that should have been?

120,000 people were attending Jan 6, what % of those were convicted?

Sport don't call me a liar. I've seen the video before. Yes it shows violence. But did it show guns? Not much of an insurrection. And no comparison to cops being injured in 2020 with bricks and frozen water bottles. People being shot and killed. Homes and businesses being burned down. No comparison.

20,000 not 120,000. And attending doesn't mean rioting. Much smaller group did that.

What does guns have to do with anything?

Why do you keep making comparisons? Only the worst riot is allowed to face consequences?

Guns have everything to do with it. Y'all called it an insurrection with the goal of taking over the government. Not only was it not that violent, but compared to the BLM riots it was fairly mild. In 2020 they used guns, knives, clubs, and fire bombs. No comparison.

And same with blm… so what is your point?

120,000 not 20,000

120,000 not 20,000

There's no way much more than 20,000 were there. Everybody was saying 20k. First I heard of this since 2020.
