Is that something added under the latest contract? When I was a seasonal years ago I was told I definitely wasn’t covered.
Why do you care ?
You couldn't hack it at UPS.... and bailed to Fred- Ex

No it’s not robbery because without paying that $50 per week there is no job.I worked for 4 weeks in 2024 as a seasonal support driver. I had $50 deducted from each of my checks for union dues. The last week that I worked, I only had about 10 hours, so that is $5/hour going to the Union. That is robbery!

FedEx definitely has problems. For me, a better fit and no ulcers.
It's a pass through job, just like the amazon driversI get it.
Not everyone has the physical ability or mental acuity to make a career out of it.
FedEx used to be a career but that changed a long time ago. Amazon drivers have absolutely no future there. They might as well be working at McDonald's.It's a pass through job, just like the amazon drivers

It certainly is pass through now. I never looked at it as a career. Just a part time job.
Cry me a river.I worked for 4 weeks in 2024 as a seasonal support driver. I had $50 deducted from each of my checks for union dues. The last week that I worked, I only had about 10 hours, so that is $5/hour going to the Union. That is robbery!
Who told you that, management? Is that something added under the latest contract? When I was a seasonal years ago I was told I definitely wasn’t covered.
Another caveat that nobody considers is that the Union negotiated wage is a "minimum". Nothing stopping UPS from finding a creative way to offset the dues cost for THEIR temporary Peak Season help that will not gain seniority by the Company's design.
Well said, thank you.Cry me a river.
You should have quit and should never return then.
But for some reason the same people do come back year in and year out and continue to bitch and whine about having to pay dues, while doing bargaining unit work in a closed union shop and earning a union negotiated wage.

This is not a case of the "Big Bad Union" abusing these seasonal workers. It's a case of the filthy rich Company exploiting a negotiated discount, while pulling down obscene profits during the holiday season.
As they have done in the past. I believe they called it an attendance bonus. If they showed up everyday, the “bonus” covered the Union dues plus some.
The company has lots of concessions, they have been put into the contract. They were the last several decadesWell said, thank you.
I beleive UPS only makes $1 per hour pension contributions for seasonals. They could easily add a little more to that pot and offset these crybabies dues. If seasonals are entitled to representation, then they should pay, very simple.
Then all these central and new englandWell said, thank you.

Then all these central and new englands wouldn't have to raid our west coast pension!

I thought the government balled out those plans. Commenting for a friend. Then all these central and new englands wouldn't have to raid our west coast pension!
