Seriously, Is there a place for Islam in America?

Bomb making or possesion is in fact illegal in almost all cases. Agreed we cannot stop people wishing to do harm to other people completely. But why give them a Tank, when we can limit the damage to a Prius.
If you want to talk some reform, raising age limit of ar’s purchases to 21 should be as far as it should go. You can argue damage or what ever, some of the most damage done to the public in this country hasn’t come from an AR. It’s come from bombs and vehicles.

So go with the Israeli model and staff all schools with armed military police. Not cheap but could be effective.

No. Don’t “just arm the teachers”. They have enough to deal with.
Well if you wanted to truly defend children and not just do a gun grab and limit rights. That could be a workable security model.

Arming the teachers, you dismiss it so quickly.
Let’s not consider all avenues of self preservation, no we need the guns. That’ll prevent violence done to children at schools don’t ya see.

You are trying to get off cheap. friend that.
I’m considering real solutions for smaller counties who can’t afford to be paying armed guards. The whole country isn’t big cities with large taxable income. I wouldnt mind at all a raise in taxes in my state to put security at schools.

I see no reason for localities to pay for it. This is a national problem with a national solution.

We are addressing too much as a nation and not enough as state citizens. These should be talks state to state, not nationally. The federal government will just expand its power like it’s done historically and bastardize our constitution. What works in Texas might not be feasible in Maryland. Doesn’t mean the people in New York should decide for both of us.

And that’s another place we disagree. The federal government is wasteful and power hungry. You want quicker reform and more accountable politicians handle it locally.

Look, it does nothing to impinge on gun rights, protects children and teachers and puts kids in touch with good role models. Well worth the money.

I don’t disagree with what you would be accomplishing, I disagree on the avenue we’d be taking to get it done. Public schools are pretty bad at intentionally using up all their budgets so they can go demand more money. Let’s handle this locally to where we can see for ourselves. Don’t let schools in New York demand more money from the rest of us. Let your school demand more money from you as a citizen directly involved.

How many private schools have experienced this problem? Not judging just asking because I don't recall any.
CAPE | Private School Facts

The numbers suggest it wouldn’t be expected since only 10% of kids go to private schools.

That said, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen. My son’s basketball and soccer team plays the local catholic high school twice a year in both sports. They have their share of A holes.

Affluent kids with smaller class sizes and more parent involvement happen to not have this problem.... who could imagine. Also helps that private schools just kick out the problem children and they end up at public schools. Same for charters, the only reason charter schools work is because they pick the good kids.
