I do know X is interested in giving those customers a reason to stay. The longer the uncertainty, the longer the opportunity.

Not sure I agree with the exact terminology, but yes in spirit.FedEx is a whore business model. FedEx Ground (Operated by...A division of...)
Scab Whore!
Depends if we get locked out or not

If we're on strike, what would a lockout be compared to if we were not locked out?
Locked out-----not allowed on company property no matter what.
FedEx Ground is a smart business model.
FedEx will run 3-4 different drivers in the same area going to the same places.
Typical FedEx answers:
No, I don't have your package. It weighs over 20lbs. Not by Express.
No, I don't have your package. It was handed off to Home Delivery
No, I don't do your pickup. Have a good day.
No, FedEx Doesn't care that I have felonies. I can still deliver on your property.
Much of that is because ups puts soooo many umhu/emhu’s on the rail....the trains are not reliable enough....FedEx puts volume on the rail but not like we do... ups chooses cheaper movement with knowing about service failures over customer service..To be fair, you guys have made a lot of improvements over the past 5-10 years, especially in time in transit.
Using contractors??? It’s not a new idea....you going to be a Uber contractor when you retire.. is that Nissan ultima road worthy enough???FedEx Ground is a smart business model.
Pilots would be with us lockout or not...hopefully...Locked out-----not allowed on company property no matter what.
You don’t want to be the few employees crossing a picket line with tensions running so high.... your life would be a living hell until you had to end up quitting...And if we are not locked out employees can cross the picket line?
And ups wants to milk these negotiations out.... what does that tell you about their willingness to get this wrapped up before major damage is done...It’s unbelievable how busy we’ve been the last few weeks. A local UPS contact said they’re down 18%.
I have no idea how much of it will go flooding back to UPS once the threat of a strike ends but I do know X is interested in giving those customers a reason to stay. The longer the uncertainty, the longer the opportunity.
But Fed ex ground is purple now, no more green.... Problem solved!Typical FedEx answers:

...which is why Trump would not allow us to strike...
Pilots would be with us lockout or not...hopefully...
That always impressed me about Bill. He let us hash it out without interference. Guess what, life went on.I remember people thought that about Clinton in '97. The economy was booming and a lot of stuff didn't move. The gov't was absolutely silent.
