"Big Fella"
Because Mad Max was unavailable, out promoting his new movie, the Biden administration chose Robert De Niro to frighten onlookers in front of the Trump courthouse. In short, Bobby D said that if re-elected, Donald Trump would pull a Julius Caesar and never leave office, he would also destroy planet earth, and, perhaps worst of all, he'd beat the living daylights out of Young Sheldon.

Maybe I heard that last one wrong.

Anyway, the last time I saw De Niro, he was walking across a snowy Switzerland playing Frankenstein's monster. That film made more sense than Bobby's anti-Trump diatribe.

The whole thing reminded me of the Scorsese movie "Casino" where Bob gives Sharon Stone bundles of cash so she can buy narcotics. Then he gets mad at Sharon because she's a bad mom.

Well, yeah!

The most bizarre thing about the courthouse fiasco is that the Biden administration actually ASKED De Niro to do this. Why? Was one voter influenced by the bizarre exposition?

Maybe Hunter, who liked "Casino" very much.

Some folks I know are voting for Trump just because Bobby isn't. It seems the former Goodfella may have to go into witness protection. Let's hope so.

There was no evidence of a crime.

And the jury must find that Trump committed a crime.

Jury instructions I'm seeing on CNN's site:

Judge tells jurors that if they find a crime was committed, they must also find Trump committed the crime

Judge Juan Merchan tells the jury that if they find a crime was committed, they must find that Donald Trump committed the crime.

"You cannot convict the defendant of that crime unless you’re also convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that he also committed that crime," the judge says.

If the DA wanted to build the case around Cohen, you would think they could have found a better liar.

The DA might be seeing if he can ram through a guilty verdict with an NYC jury even though the judge has explicitly told them that they can't convict based on Cohen's testimony alone. Not sure what other evidence would corroborate his testimony.

Jury can consider if a witness has an interest in the outcome of the case, judge says

Judge Juan Merchan continues to give the jury instructions and is now speaking to witness credibility.

He tells the jury they can consider whether a witness hopes or expects to receive a benefit related to the trial or if they have an interest in the outcome of the case.

"You are not required to reject the testimony of an interested witness or to accept the testimony of a witness who has no interest in the outcome of a case," Merchan says.

Jury cannot convict Trump on Cohen's testimony alone because he's an accomplice, judge says

Judge Juan Merchan says the jury cannot convict Trump on the testimony of Michael Cohen alone because he is an accomplice, but they can use it if they corroborate it with other evidence.

"Under our law Michael Cohen is an accomplice," Merchan says.

"Even if you find the testimony of Michael Cohen to be believable, you may not convict the defendant solely upon that testimony unless you also find it’s corroborated by other evidence," he says.

Well looks like the US is officially becoming Russia. The corrupt judge says the jurors dont have to be unanimous

Isn’t this a New York State case?

“In federal criminal cases, a unanimous verdict is required before the court can convict a defendant. States have the right to set their own laws about jury unanimity, but Texas, like most other states, also requires a unanimous vote for a guilty verdict in order to convict a defendant at trial.”
It is a New York state case but they have to link it to a federal crime to be allowed to shoehorn in the state charges that have passed their expirations.

*that were federal misdemeanors"
No doubt it’s all nonsense. But I don’t know why anyone is surprised that New York would play games.

It’s pretty clear. No one really knows what the hell is going on or what’s happening. Making a mockery of the justice system does that.

Bragg never did say what the federal crime was. Which violates Trump's Constitutional right to due process.

If Trump ends up being found guilty of anything he will easily win on appeal but they never cared about winning. Lawfare.
Yep, got him to spend lots of money and not be able to campaign as much. Although I think it has completely backfired.

Trump already has grounds for direct appeal to the Supreme Court.

Robert De Niro was representing the Biden/Harris campaign in front of the courthouse yesterday for good reason. They obviously want a guilty verdict rammed through before the election even if it'd easily be overturned on appeal.
