And what would Trump go to jail for?
In the federal election interference case brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith, former President Donald Trump faces four specific charges related to his alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. These charges, outlined in a grand jury indictment filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on August 1, 2023, include:

1. Conspiracy to Defraud the United States: This charge alleges that Trump conspired with others to obstruct and impair the lawful functions of the federal government, particularly the certification of the electoral vote count. Prosecutors argue that this effort involved spreading false claims of election fraud and pressuring officials to alter or interfere with the election results.

2. Conspiracy to Obstruct an Official Proceeding: This charge focuses on the certification of the electoral vote by Congress on January 6, 2021. Prosecutors allege that Trump and co-conspirators plotted to stop or delay the certification process, particularly through efforts to create fake slates of electors in swing states and by pressuring Vice President Mike Pence to reject valid electoral votes.

3. Obstruction of and Attempt to Obstruct an Official Proceeding: This charge further addresses Trump’s alleged role in directly trying to halt Congress’s certification of the electoral vote on January 6. Unlike the conspiracy charge, this one focuses on the specific act of obstructing the certification process through false claims and pressure tactics aimed at government officials.

4. Conspiracy Against Rights: This charge is based on a statute from the Reconstruction Era, often used in civil rights cases, which prohibits conspiracies to deprive people of their rights. Prosecutors allege that Trump and others attempted to deprive U.S. voters of their constitutional right to have their votes counted and fairly represented by trying to alter the lawful outcome of the election.

These charges together accuse Trump of orchestrating a coordinated effort to undermine the election’s integrity and prevent the peaceful transfer of power. If convicted, he could face significant prison time, especially since obstruction and conspiracy charges each carry substantial penalties.

Anyway… We would know already what he was guilty of if he wasn’t a billionaire that could delay his cases so years. But here we are.

Oh my god Jack has got him dead to rights!

Slam dunk case should be over soon. You should hold your breath.

Thankfully, if you read that closely, it says “the charge”

If Justice was equal, Trump would’ve been in jail while he waited just like everyone else for the charge .

But its not equal, and the federal government rolled over people like a freight train.

Interesting they didn’t do the same for the George Floyd rioters or The Portland rioters.

It seems that protecting royalty in Washington DC is a lot more important than protecting normal people.

Charges are just that, charges. They have to be adjudicated in court. You make it sound like he's already guilty and court is just a formality. If he wins Tuesday most of this goes away. They were only brought with hopes of derailing his candidacy. After everything he was put through by the Left It'll be poetic justice if he wins the presidency. Better four more years of liberal belly aching than 4 years of a clueless woman heading up a behind the scenes cabal pushing an extreme agenda.

Lawfare. And Jack Smith has a long history of doing anything to try to get a conviction and getting slapped down for it.

If Trump wins the electoral college next week, get ready for 2 months of street riots, a media onslaught the vote was illegitimate, crisis gov’t pressure on social platforms, followed at the end by an attempt by Congress to nullify the election on January 6, 2025.

We’ve went over this. Hundreds of people who were arrested for rioting, arson, property damage etc. during the racial unrest period in 2020 either pleaded guilty or were found guilty.
We’ve been over this….

And thousands weren’t. .

Harris wanted to free them and defund the police departments that were trying to arrest them.
It’s weird you’re defending her actions here.

But thanks for the mental gymnastics.

Thousands weren’t arrested and held accountable for looting and arson, which is a shame. That’s not Kamala Harris’ fault, is it? Who does the buck stop with? Local police? The mayors? Governors? The president of the United States?

She shed light on a fund to let people out on bail because in America you are innocent until proven guilty and she’s been around long enough to know that there were innocents swept up in the arrests who were not guilty of anything other than maybe breaking curfew.

She’s never called for an outright defunding of police without using some funds for social services that would do the work of preempting future crime.

That kind of thing doesn’t seem to be working so far.

“Durham County leaders announced Friday the termination of the anti-violence program Bull City United.

The decision to shut down Bull City United is effective Friday.

The county said the decision impacts 20 full-time and contracted employees.

“After reviewing Bull City United’s impact and alignment with the community’s evolving needs the Community Intervention and Support Services (CISS) department will phase out the program,” a county spokesperson said in a statement to WRAL News.

Bull City United has received millions of dollars in taxpayer funding since its inception in November 2016. It was founded to address shootings in two areas in Durham County with a team of seven staff members. According to the group's mission statement, it aimed to reduce violence in the community by hiring people with criminal histories who could convince others there's a better way.”

I didn’t specifically blame her. But I did specifically blame her for her part. And if you listen to her, she believes the federal government should be in charge of all the cities because at the time she wanted to defund police departments and give more money to other projects as if the federal government should be involved in states and city’s business. And yes, she called for the outright defunding of police maybe not the abolishment. But it was a curious time to do that when they were doing their job and she was donating to people they were trying to stop and arrest.

Again, if we’re gonna do mental gymnastics, at least give me a moment to do some stretching. I’m a little older than you. I may get hurt.
But in keeping with the mental gymnastics, she’s pretty much changed completely since then go figure! 😂

Yep, it's complicated. There's been several instances of mixed results of moving funds from policing to other social services to lessen crime. And just because money flows back into policing doesn't mean that works any better for prevention. See: Austin, Minneapolis, Denver, Los Angeles, Seattle...
