but thats not what happened in either star wars or the matrix.
the matrix openly raises this question in the first and second movie. cypher questions "the one" in the first. and in the second movie neo and another guy say "you saved me" and neo says "you saved yourself". it was a team effort in both movies with powerful, talented ppl like luke skywalker and neo helping out as well. interdependence.
star wars trilogy didnt raise the question of environmental destruction, it was just complete destruction by war. matrix updated the myth and included economic envrionmental destruction which smith symbolized as an unrestrained monopolist.

There is no such thing as collective injustice, simply large numbers of individuals acting unjustly. You can't punish or blame an entire group of people because something some subset of the group did. That's actual injustice. The groupings are always arbitrary.
