FedEx driver strike threatens online parcel deliveries
A majority of FedEx employees have voted to take strike action - a move that could see thousands of shopping parcels delayed across the country.

“TWU National Secretary Michael Kaine said 70 per cent of the workforce voted to go on strike after employees were "starved" of overtime, extreme demand and a lack of job security.”![]()

Ttku..“TWU National Secretary Michael Kaine said 70 per cent of the workforce voted to go on strike after employees were "starved" of overtime, extreme demand and a lack of job security.”
They’re complaining about lack of overtime? Why would they expect to get overtime?
I would think extreme demand would lead to pretty good job security. “Ahhh, so many people want the service my company provides! I’m afraid I won’t have a job!”
You missed the part where they said a lot of work is being contracted out. They want the option to do the work. And 97% of the FedExers voted to strike.“TWU National Secretary Michael Kaine said 70 per cent of the workforce voted to go on strike after employees were "starved" of overtime, extreme demand and a lack of job security.”

Didn’t miss that, I just don’t believe it’s legit. It’s more likely an excuse to squeeze the employer. If Australia is like here, workers are hard to come by. If they can secure labor with short term contracts that’s cheaper than paying overtime while they bring on more workers, they have an obligation to do that. Companies shouldn’t be forced to make bad financial decisions. That’s how unionized workforces bankrupt companies so everyone loses. You missed the part where they said a lot of work is being contracted out. They want the option to do the work. Bankrupt companies by having its own employees do the work? Lmfao!Didn’t miss that, I just don’t believe it’s legit. It’s more likely an excuse to squeeze the employer. Math can be hard for some people, don’t feel too bad, it’s not for everyone.Bankrupt companies by having its own employees do the work? Lmfao!
If having your own employees do the work they're hired to do bankrupts you, you shouldn't be in business.Math can be hard for some people, don’t feel too bad, it’s not for everyone.
Unions are full of workers that believe revenue is infinite. They will negotiate contracts that bankrupt companies. It happens. If a company can contract out work and save money they should, it would be maleficence not to.If having your own employees do the work they're hired to do bankrupts you, you shouldn't be in business.
Companies don't have to agree to union demands. 99% of the time they do, with concessions from both sides.Unions are full of workers that believe revenue is infinite. Did your unending source of box humpers dry up at a sustainable rate of pay?If Australia is like here, workers are hard to come by.
Did you mean malfeasance?Unions are full of workers that believe revenue is infinite. They will negotiate contracts that bankrupt companies. It happens. If a company can contract out work and save money they should, it would be maleficence not to.
He thought socialism sounded great on paper but is realizing what it'll mean to his(her?)personal bottom line. You seem worried.

You sing a different tune than before.
I sense your books aren't as strong as they were, even with the unprecedented volume.
I read people well, you popped your head out of the hole to comment on unions, lack of workers and you mentioned bankruptcy.
You don't deal with a unionized work force, that cannot dictate your future.
Lack of workers and bankruptcy are all that is left from the equation,
I smell fear, impending doom, a concern that previously was non-exsistent, at unprecedented volumes.
Your ass is in trouble, it couldn't happen to a better person.
You are the first person on this site I haven't hoped the best for, I hope your ass fails, big time.
Well that was a brain fart.He thought socialism sounded great on paper but is realizing what it'll mean to his(her?)personal bottom line.
Unions have a lot to answer for.
Management has a lot to answer for.
