The Runner Gunner Lunch Skippers are HATING the new DOT lunch rule

Brown, do you know what "anecdotal" evidence is? I am not a PA trooper or PENNDOT, but am confident enough in my belief to drive 80mph on the turnpike from Philly to the OH border, past troopers, past their speed traps, maybe a dozen times, and have yet to be even warned, or given the eye by one. BTW, the limit is 65, 55 in city limits.

One other thing: where in the new regs does it even mention "sorting" or even "boxes"? Might that just be yours and Over's interpretation?

I've been doing this job the same way for well over 20 years now, inside the Capital Beltway with a 20 year safe driving award to prove it. Have always skipped my lunch simply because it was my choice to do so or not...

Honestly....what do ya care? If you want to be out all night rock and roll. Why drag everyone else into the dark with you?

If one wants to skip negotiated breaks, fine, go for it. Just be sure that you do not falsify anything by putting in fake break times. Falsifying is a sure way to get fired! This way you get paid for all hours worked too.

DuH just like every new thing at ups and after a while it will be looked over

They used to say this in my center too(especially about working off the clock)---came in early...filed for each one of those to be paid....The company stopped it REAL quick-----and before you think otherwise..I talked with the habituals first...they said they didn't care.......THEY DO NOW!

If the DOT stops you on lunch, just say you are on break or just sorting and take the lunch later. There are ways around this and big brown will turn the other cheek.
