The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming!

Serious, completely hypothetical question.

Suppose sanctions really took a toll on Russians and a disillusioned segment of the military staged a coup and killed Putin.

Would you blame Biden for causing disruption in global affairs?
No. Why do I care if Putin is killed?

Why would you? You’ve been pointing to your Kremlin-controlled information sources and saying Ukraine’s government has been committing genocide against Russians in Donbass for 8 years.
They have been committing genocide (or at least, unjustified merciless attacks on people who only want independence). And they've been doing that for 8 years, with the government that we installed.

Those are facts.

I didn't say it was bad to install that government

It's completely dumb to replace such a regime on Putin's border and then expect the rabid dog not to attack, when he's backed into a corner.

This is a chess match. We gave Putin one possible move to make. And he made it. Big shock.

Here's my radicalism: I generally think that people who want self-government should have it.

I support independence and autonomy for Western Ukraine, and Eastern Ukraine. But it's also silly to pretend they're not both very Russian/Eastern.

Amazing. It's almost like I have consistent principles.

This is their fight. Let them have it. NATO has no interest.

Absolute nonsense. Russia’s got you with their lies hook, line and sinker.

Yes, I sent something from Russia Today, which also happened to be a long video with lots of internal evidences. Ukraine's government doesn't deny consistent bombardment of the region and regular attacks to bring them under control. Ukraine's government doesn't dispute that thousands have been killed.

Both sides agree that those are facts. Ukraine's government has killed a lot of people to prevent Donbass independence. There is nobody who even questions that.

Citing Russia Today is no different than citing NPR.

Except that NPR is communist and Russia Today is merely very biased.

No biggie. @Jkloc420 also posted a screenshot from one of his favorite Russian information sources today too.

I understand that some American conservatives ardently believe Russia is the key to upholding and in some cases spreading Christian conservative values in a world that often seems to be going the other way culturally and ideologically. It’s probably no coincidence that there have been quite a few posts on here recently about how Ukrainians are weirdo cross dressers.

I get it. It’s just a little strange to see the resulting support for what Putin is doing from fellow Americans.

Literally everyone on the planet agrees that Ukraine has killed thousands in Donbass to prevent independence.

Do you dispute that?

There are casualties on both sides. You just happen to believe the Putin narrative of that conflict.
I believe that the people of Donbass want independence.

Everyone agrees that this is what they want.

I believe that they are being bombed by Ukraine who wants to stop independence.

Everyone agrees this is what Ukraine has done.

*I support self-government for whoever wants it.

It has nothing to do with a Russia narrative.

It has everything to do with a Russian narrative. The people of the Dunbas region are merely pawns for Putin's bigger plans. He doesn't care about their independence or the independence of Ukraine.

No, he doesn't care about their independence or the independence of Ukraine. He's using Donbass as pawns.

Did you think you were making a point?

The point is regardless of what was happening in Dunbas this was going to happen. It's really not that complicated to see what an evil person with power of an army is capable of.

It was in his eye.

The absolute seal was the NATO-takeover. He wanted it before. He had to have it after. We pushed, and we gave him one choice.

I also like how you plainly change the subject when one isn't going well.

I suppose we agree that Ukraine bombed the :censored2: out of Donbass to prevent their self-government and independence?
