So the deal is that Mexico will now send 10,000 of their troops to the border and that’s what y’all are freaking out about?

I don’t remember this type of response when the Biden administration got this same exact deal in 2021. Same amount of troops too, 10,000

“According to White House press secretary Jen Psaki, Mexico will maintain a deployment of about 10,000 troops, while Guatemala has surged 1,500 police and military personnel to its southern border and Honduras deployed 7,000 police and military to its border “to disperse a large contingent of migrants” there. Guatemala will also set up 12 checkpoints along the migratory route through the country.”

Did Mexico actually end up maintaining a deployment of about 10,000 troops on the border?

Evidently Biden must of sent them there to help them cross over safely. 15000 a day at times crossing when Biden was in office. Trump is in office less than 2 weeks and you do not hear about any caravans on the way and Tom Horton says the encounters are down more than he has ever seen in his career. Didn’t even need to pass “the toughest bipartisan boarder bill 🤣” to get it done.

I guess is this is why it’s just a pause. If they send those troops and they perform as poorly as they did when Joe Biden was president there won’t be a pause. Agreed to send them for a specific reason to work with the US government. 30 days and counting.

At the White House later in the day, Mr. Trump told reporters that the call "went very well, in the sense that they're very strong now on the border."

Sheinbaum unveiled the details of the deal in an earlier post on X, saying that the U.S. is "committed to working to prevent the trafficking of high-powered weapons to Mexico" and that "our teams will begin working today on two fronts: security and trade." She wrote in Spanish that Mexico "will immediately reinforce the northern border with 10,000 members of the National Guard to prevent drug trafficking from Mexico to the United States, particularly fentanyl."

In the afternoon, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued a statement saying Mr. Trump is pausing tariffs on Canadian imports for at least 30 days, following a pair of phone calls between the two leaders. In return, Trudeau said Canada is implementing a $1.3 billion plan to protect the border. Mr. Trump soon confirmed the deal.

"I am very pleased with this initial outcome, and the Tariffs announced on Saturday will be paused for a 30 day period to see whether or not a final Economic deal with Canada can be structured," Mr. Trump wrote. "FAIRNESS FOR ALL!"

The difference is Trump will actually require Mexico to control their border and not let hundreds of thousands a month come up to the U.S. border. If they don't they'll get tariffs and they know it. Please don't tell me that was happening under Biden too because we not only had hundreds of thousands a month crossing but any efforts by Texas and Arizona to stop crossings were fought by the Biden administration.
