That is why no taxes on tips is a winner, my son worked as a waiter at a nice restaurant during college and some days he would clear over 300 dollar in one night. That was 15 years ago…
Why should he deserve to not be taxed for his income while handing people food so the customers can subsidize the business owners wages but a construction worker gets taxed?

Lol, r u a democrat
Voted Democrat yeah

do you think this should only apply to restraunts? Should fast food be able to pay their workers $4 an hour and expect the customers to make up the rest? Starbucks? Ups drivers? Where does it stop and what’s the criteria?

But it seems like the waiters like it because they get paid good through their tips. I just don’t see why a waiters income shouldn’t be taxed but a ups drivers should

Do you need an air compressor or tire gauge

It is no taxes on tips bud, it applies to people who get tips

Because waiters make less than minimum wage while construction workers do much better by the hour per company pay. Restaurants tend to not be very busy between lunch and dinner so if they pay waiters much higher hourly pay they'd either have to have waiters work part time hours or charge customers a lot more to keep the waiters around all day. And no business owner likes giving workers money for not doing anything.

…and I thought the Democrats were for the underdogs…
I think workers should get a guaranteed fair wage. What if you get no customers, now you’re stuck with $4 an hour

That’s the gamble of being a waiter I suppose though. I’ve just seen tipping creep into more and more services and it comes across as a way of expecting customers to pick up the slack of businesses not paying their employees enough

So you're good with restaurants charging 50% more for a meal? Double?

I only tip at places where I sit down to eat and a waiter a waitress serves me my whole meal. If you don’t want to tip, you do not have to go to that kind of restaurant.

Personally, I don’t think any of us should have federal payroll taxes. There should be a consumption tax. That would solve the whole problem of Only certain people not getting taxed

Until all your heroes stupid ideas get reversed. Already happening. Man you are a bigger sheep than I ever imagined. Do you have a Elon doll?
So you're hoping all the ridiculous spending being uncovered continues? And guess what happens when a liberal judge puts a hold on something? It gets bumped up to the next level. At some point someone will decide it's constitutional and it'll happen.

Would we be able to cover military and Medicaid/social security with no income tax?

I’d be interested in learning more if you have some sources. From what I understand is consumption taxes would hit the poorest the hardest

The Fair Tax, if that's what is implemented, would give everyone a "prebate" check every month to cover the tax on groceries, meds, etc. Beyond that people can choose what they spend their money on, and pay taxes on, and government and business would be a lot more streamlined without the requirements to pay income taxes. A lot of economists have approved the Fair Tax. Google Fair Tax for more info.
