Free trade has made our comfortable lives possible. If we shrink into ourselves we will have less and it’ll be more expensive.
It devastated the middle class. You can certainly find work in the U.S. but often you need 1.5 to 2 jobs to get by. Some people do well. Not talking about the 1%. If you're above the median income you're doing ok if you manage your money. But that group is smaller than the one below the median.

Comfortable lives? You are fool if you really believe that. We are losing groundevery day because of ideologies like yours. Someone as amoral as you who has no problem using those who you feel or lesser than you to do your bidding generally have what goes around comes around. We will soon be the slaves that you ignore now. Free trade, indeed. Enjoy your trinkets while you can.

Yep, and the free trade NAFTA style government has eroded our buying power and good jobs for working people year after year

We know. You also don’t think it’s a problem that you think so little of immigrants that you want them to be a permanent unclass so they can do the work you don’t want to do. You scream for these people not because you want them to be equal but to be able to use them so you have an advantage.

They want the opportunity to work in America. I think we should make it easier.

Free trade has made sure that more power and more money has gone to fewer and fewer people., what an interesting way to use language and calls something like this “free trade”.

Warren buffet and @Doublestandards showed us that tariffs are an act of war so they proved that Canada and many other countries are at war with us. Do we just stand by and let these countries bomb us with tariffs or do we fight back?

If we onshore a lot of factories I have no doubt all the illegals in the U.S. will be manning them at low wages. But how the Biden administration got them in here was just stupid. Got people murdered. Women raped. If the Democrats have no better solution than to let these people in unvetted and then spend billions every month supporting them then you absolutely don't deserve to be in power.

Ah. So what’s your preferred solution if there’s no free movement of capital or people?
Well, do you believe in the idea of a closed shop or do you like right to work

Personally, I think a closed shop is fair

Right to work is like free trade. The term sounds nice, but really what it does erodes the middle class, unions and working peoples power. Both their money and their influence.

We have watched it for 50 years. Sure they sprinkle a little bit our way sometimes but power and money have been concentrated more and more into less and less people and corporations.

Shawn is correct.
