I think what the voting public is understanding is give a man a fish and you feed him for one day. Teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. I think you hit it. Trump likes to get even but his winning the presidency in 2016, while proving Obama wrong, would never be as satisfying as beating the Democrats top man. It's like speculating whether Rocky Marciano could've beaten the great heavyweights who came after him.
