Do it 1% at a time and see what you are comfortable with.
My 401k was actually set at 1% for a while then gradually increased it, i actually had it at 35% during peak but found 25% to be a sweet spot
I gotta thank ms pacman for helping me = ]

Every time I get a raise I bump it up. Trying to find the right balance of savings and living. My 401k was actually set at 1% for a while then gradually increased it, i actually had it at 35% during peak but found 25% to be a sweet spot
The ones that make the most put the least in. The 100k club that drives a BMW to work.I think most of my co workers are around 5-10%
They way I look at it is if I'm bringing home over 1k a week I'm either working too much or not putting enough into the 401kI almost make that as a 2nd year driver so that's odd. I think a lot take home close too. 1100-1200
I tell all of the new guys the day they go full time. Put it at 20% and don't even think about touching it the rest of your career. Of course I doubt many take my advice.Do it 1% at a time and see what you are comfortable with.
Many don't have the ability , like you do, they may have a spouse that dosen't work and a couple kids , etc.....I tell all of the new guys the day they go full time. Put it at 20% and don't even think about touching it the rest of your career. Of course I doubt many take my advice.
I got to twist their arms just to put a few percent away. The senior drivers are worse and they know what shape out pension fund is in.I tell all of the new guys the day they go full time. Agreed but....they can still put something away and gradually increase it over time. Many don't have the ability , like you do, they may have a spouse that dosen't work and a couple kids , etc.....
If you do it the day you go full time you'll never miss it. They were making it at measly part time wages somehow. Many don't have the ability , like you do, they may have a spouse that dosen't work and a couple kids , etc.....
Guess it depends on where you live at too.If you do it the day you go full time you'll never miss it. They were making it at measly part time wages somehow.
A full time upser can max out their 401k and still bring home at least $800-$900 a week. There are lots of people that would KILL to have a job that pays that.
Maybe they were renting an apartment when pt, now bought a home........If you do it the day you go full time you'll never miss it. They were making it at measly part time wages somehow.

I see 1300-1400 paychecks all of the time and just shake my head.I got to twist their arms just to put a few percent away. The senior drivers are worse and they know what shape out pension fund is in.
I'm sure we all could do a little better and cut a little spending and save a little more.Maybe they were renting an apartment when pt, now bought a home........
Maybe they should of kept renting an apt....Maybe they were renting an apartment when pt, now bought a home........
I know a couple of drivers who actually claimed bankruptcy.I see 1300-1400 paychecks all of the time and just shake my head.
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
Yea, cause that's not like flushing your $$$ right down the crapper like a big ol @Turdferguson ....Maybe they should of kept renting an apt....
Remember me in your will???.........Listen my wife and I make more money than all of our friends. I get that we are very fortunate.
However all of our friends have more stuff than us. We get told all of the time. Just go buy a car. Just go buy that house. Nope. There's a plan in place. So far it's went very well. I plan on retiring a multimillionaire
It's actually not. I once thought it was too but I learned that lesson the hard way.Yea, cause that's not like flushing your $$$ right down the crapper like a big ol @Turdferguson ....
