We had a few guys cross in 97 I think out of all that crossed only one actually made it to retirement the rest all got fired. One went into management and eventually got fired.
I think some that crossed were hoping to go into management but that was when UPS really started cutting management jobs.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

I don’t know of one driver that crossed the line in 97. They never would have lasted if they had crossed. My state and the lunatics in Massachusetts were quite serious about it. I never heard the idea of crossing even discussed. Of course some may have crossed if it went longer. Who knows. But there were drivers still around that had been in the 5 week New England strike in 1970, they were pretty adamant and vigilant about not letting scabs cross.

Those two that crossed from my building did not have a pleasant work life for the amount of time that they lasted lol. Funny thing is management hated them just as much. Apparently they don’t like rats and scabs either.

I was wondering about that. I imagine they think management will like them for defying the union, when really management might look at them as an unloyal person only out for themselves.
