Trump Shot!

Needing clearance for that is insane. You can't wait until someone aiming a scoped high powered rifle at your protectee takes the first shot.
Military dealt with that insanity constantly , i wouldnt be surprised if it has crept in the secret service.

it sounds sexist but when you watch the video the men seemed to move with a purpose like they understand their roles and were executing the plan while the woman looked chaotic. couple that with the fact they are too short to stop a bullet for a 6 5 man and the height difference really stands out.
secret service relies on executing a well practiced plan. the woman that couldnt holster her weapon after five tries does not seem to be comfortable with what should be a day one on the job skill.
It’s not sexist don’t let them gaslight you! Men are made different than women that’s okay! It’s a good thing!

With different departments working there they had to make sure they weren't shooting a good guy first.
yes my other thought is if they had good communication than they may have been waiting for the police officer that went up to the roof to confirm that the guy was a threat.

The whole situation should have never happened if they had done their jobs.

I can't accept that the shooter was as close as he was and it had to be super confirmed that he was a threat by the counter-sniper team(s) at a minimum. If you're looking through a scope or binoculars at that distance you can see everything.

"When seconds count, police are minutes away"
roof was not covered and not sealed off . that shooter should never have gotten there.

with that said there are crazy things that happen on the fringes of these rallies that has probably led to some bad policy that kept the SS snipers from recognizing and taking out a threat until it was too late.

the good news trump survived the screw ups and the secret service will now go through an intense process of evaluation.

They'd better because I'm imagining where we might be right now if Trump hadn't gotten super lucky and it's obviously not good.

It’s funny how you guys are so focused on the woman, and ignoring the majority of secret service that were men who failed to do their duty

From the moment he started to climb side of building until he started to shoot was just a few minutes. Witnesses tried to get SS/law enforcement attention. An FBI agent told someone there that a local cop climbed up to take a look and when he got to top the gunman pointed his rifle at him and he immediately fell to the ground. That was when the gunman opened fire.
