it becomes a consumer tax then and only works if he is able to reduce income tax on a similar scale. like I've said a few times before I dont know if this will work , i just started hearing about it but I've always hoped for a flat tax or a strict consumer based tax. I would have also been for eliminating the income tax and adjusting the sales tax accordingly. It puts control in my hands . if i dont want to pay the tax i dont buy the tv or car or whatever.

We have a large Jewish minority that's economically powerful in the U.S. If there was a large Ukrainian minority of similar means then you might very possibly see troops in Ukraine. That's just the way it is.

I'd think a lot more voters would feel pain from price increases than would feel relief from income tax reductions since income tax rates are progressive and the lower brackets already pay little to nothing. Hope this won't become an open invitation for the blue haired folks to retake power.
