I got a print out in seconds for hubby's pension info from their computer site this morning after I figured out what hoops to jump thru. The stats were interesting.
And yes, I also expect to see major changes next year to the pension and especially to the health benefits. I think the days of your preemo benefits will be a thing of the past and you all may end up with what the UPS clerical and mgmt have had for health benefits for some years now.
They pay monthly for their choice of a medical plan, their co pays are high (
especially if one chooses to see a specialist)
and the choices of doctors and dentists are very limited....
And speaking of the pension, the union pensions are underfunded and the company's pension plans are also underfunded. And you know UPS will try again to take hold of
your pensions.
At this point though, both choices come with issues and I really wonder which of the two would be most beneficial for you...???...
