Un. in fortunately. Due to fact I started here at 18. And they seem to have misplaced some pension fundsThat was over 30 years ago. And you are still working here?
Most PT don't earn enough to even pay taxes. Have a family and you qualify for Earned Income Credit.Bonuses typically taxed at 40%, but still free money for being responsible enough to show up on time.
Because it was a Union job and paid better then non Union jobs and with benefits. Somewhere this has been lost. The reason I voted NO one more time. I knew it was a lost cause.Dude I know. When I started here in 1989 The starting wage was 9.00 a hour. Back then minimum wage was like 3.75. It was the job to have as a part time worker.
I have no idea how they even get people in the door to apply. I guess they feed them that BS line about making $100k/yr in a couple years.Have no idea how the starting pay never got raised with the cost of living
Well if all the part timers were involved and stuck together and voted it would be a different story I thinkBecause it was a Union job and paid better then non Union jobs and with benefits. Somewhere this has been lost. The reason I voted NO one more time. I knew it was a lost cause.
For perspective...
2013 contract;
64,509 votes on national
34,307 yes
30,202 no
Estimated 240,000 Teamster eligible to vote

The IBT would never allow that to happen. Just like the IBT will impose this contract.Well if all the part timers were involved and stuck together and voted it would be a different story I think
That's right about the same percentage that voted on the strike authorization this contract.
Not even close. It was just over a quarter of members that voted on the strike auth.
