Annoy a liberal today. Hit them with facts.
Simple minded people feel the same way as you on this.I agree it's time to really address our debt. We need serious cuts and overhauls to social security, medicare, and the military.

Now you're just fighting cold, hard numbers.Simple minded people feel the same way as you on this.

Figures that the 1st thing you think about cutting are programs where people actually paid into them. Now you're just fighting cold, hard numbers.
Oh great,a disagree from a Troll. Another left wing nut job
Sorry was directed at Sportello, not youTo whom are you replying?
Actually it's $2 trillion as of today.
Actually it's $2 trillion as of today.
How much of our national debt is a direct result of our decision to invade and occupy a country (Iraq) that had not attacked us and posed no threat to us?
.000007%
So let's see, by you're own admission, the cost of the wars is 2 trillion. And that equals .000007% of our debt.Actually it's $2 trillion as of today.
If you pay into a program, and continue to vote for people that piss away your money, are you not getting what you deserve? Is it right to expect future generations to pay for the failure of your own?Figures that the 1st thing you think about cutting are programs where people actually paid into them.
And it also figures that you would not mention welfare, food stamps, the size of congress, their salaries and staff, foreign aid, cabinet departments and government official's pension costs.
'Today' being the operative word.
$2,000,000,000,000 doesn't include ancillary costs such as benefits for disabled veterans, etc.
The costs of the Vietnam and first Iraq wars have ballooned much greater than any prediction at the time. I can't imagine the second Iraq war and the Afghanistan war will be any different.
Can't recognize a joke when you see it?So let's see, by you're own admission, the cost of the wars is 2 trillion. And that equals .000007% of our debt.
Math isn't your strong suit is it?
Bill Clinton didn't balance anything. Didn't you learn about government divisions and responsibility? The country needs another Bill Clinton to balance the budget and start paying back the debt again.
I don't want those programs saved. They are ponzi schemes. Let them start the process of dying and starting something sustainable like individual retirement and health care accounts. If you pay into a program, and continue to vote for people that piss away your money, are you not getting what you deserve? Is it right to expect future generations to pay for the failure of your own?
You cry about the national debt but are too much much of a coward to accept cuts to the three programs that account for the vast majority of it. Man up or shut up. Sure, let's cut welfare and food stamps, and corporate welfare for that matter. The cost of congressional staffs, pensions, cabinet departments are a drop in the bucket.... but ok sure let's cut them too.
I'm willing to accept the cuts you propose, you are the one who is unwilling to accept cuts to the programs that actually create the majority of the debt. Truth is, you are far more interested in a BS talking point to bash your opposing political team than you are addressing national debt. Typical neocon.
The President presents a budget to congress to vote on. Yes the congress voted for President Clintons budget and balanced the budget with a surplus to pay off the debt. Then Bush shot the whole thing to hell.Bill Clinton didn't balance anything. Didn't you learn about government divisions and responsibility?
Congress spends the money. Congress is in charge of the money. The REPUBLICAN CONGRESS balanced the budget in the Clinton years.
Where is the republican congress now? Or the last 20 years.Bill Clinton didn't balance anything. Didn't you learn about government divisions and responsibility?
