That's because he is a true artist. This dude has much respect and love in the reggae community. His style and music has changed a lot over the years. But his music has always been influenced and infused with his Hasidic beliefs.

I saw them back in 2008 with Heart.

Was that was the tour with the Philipino lead singer? My wife dragged me to that concert. I didn't want to go but I ended up enjoying it. I saw Journey back in the early 80s during their heyday. I didn't think anyone could replace Steve Perry, but that other dude was pretty good.
