What is the REAL reason negotiations have stalled?

I’m not sure why the union allowed it. Same goes for the PVDs. 22.4 seems like the companies way of saving money.
I was annoyed when I didn’t qualify last summer but it seems I’d be back in the building either way now cuz a lot of guys are laid off and have been since peak ended

After seeing how poorly the part timers have been treated the last 41 years in contracts I don’t believe for a second that the Union has suddenly decided that Part Time Pay is so important that the members will strike over it. It DOES make a great news story and is good for getting Public Support to swing our way in case of a strike but what are opinions of the REAL reasons negotiations broke down? What is the real reason we may go on strike?

My opinions are the company wants to make things like attendance a Cardinal sin, and wants to make the work week for the vast majority of employees Tuesday-Saturday
From what I have heard the company still has visions of a coat neutral contract. There’s just no chance that’s happening.

Coat neutral... are we talking like a beige color coat or maybe an off white..?
My fear is that now there’s no 25% rule anymore and they’re just gonna classify half of the drivers in every building T-S
I called it. Been telling plenty of the new "RPCDs" that they better not get used to M-Fri because they will be back to T-S in no time.

IE out here has planned all Saturdays as 90% 22.4s and 10% RPCDs. Depending on volunteers. Once their is no 25% the company will expand zip codes again and put in even more routes on Saturday. Doubt it'll get to 50% but it will grow that for sure.

That’s going to happen. 100%. When this is done, I think we will wish we tweaked 22.4 language, not abolished it.
I would have like language that said if they drive for 5+ hours they get RPCD full scale.

I have been telling people let’s see the language. If a bunch of guys think they’re losing 6 punch but being moved to t-s it may not pass.

nah, we're going in the other direction on that one
nobody but marketing really wants to deliver to that 10% of the country that lives on dirt roads
Densely populated metro areas yes, rural areas no....follow the money.

I actually lose about $1300, don’t care where u live, could be a tent in your moms back yard. And the toys will be whatever SOB gets you in the new contract that we will be striking for. I only asked that because when you get your $15 wage increase or whatever it is are you going to strike when ours is only $1.50 yr? I guess we’ll just have to find out. Funny thing, you’re the only one that answered.
If the union leadership recommends I strike I will strike, absolutely
