Peak season I’m scheduled for 9 hour shifts and sundays are mandatory.
Rest of the year yeah you’re right it’s about an average of 4 hours, but it’s still work as directed and sometimes have to stay much longer

Here's the deallll....PART TIMERS....when I was part time....I made $8.50/hr!!! That's right $8.50!!!! You Know what else? I had 3 jobs. DiDNT hear me complaining! The last 10 years are not the issue, it was the 20 years prior. We are forgetting that those entry part time jobs are not desirable anymore, no one wants to do manual labor or have to wait 5 to 10 years in order to win on full time position that will demand more physical and mental stress.
These newer part timers are looking at us full timers and are saying to themselves “ never in a million years” will I sign for that.

That’s the same with a lot of jobs. Going rate for trucking in the 70s was $45 hr. Now our top pay is $42

Average pay for truckers in the 70s was 40k a year. That’s not 45 an hour, more like 19.50

But when you translate that to todays money, it’s equal to $45hr. Apples to apples. So we didn’t gain any buying power, we lost it.
