What is the REAL reason negotiations have stalled?

I worked at UPS for over 20 years and one of the main changes I saw during that time was the quality of human beings that were new hires.

In the last few years it seemed only the dregs of society started coming through the door, people that were barely capable of having a drivers license let alone becoming a driver. My favorite person was the Samoan chick that would smoke a blunt as she drive out of the parking lot every morning, not a care in the world who saw her.

A significant raise will bring in significantly better humans through the door, which means better loads and less dicks drawn on the walls of the bathroom.

I think it really is a worthy fight, my own outside 2 cents
Yup. Starting wage in 1980 was $8.50, which is $33 today after inflation. That wage didn’t raise a single cent for over 30 years. In 2010 that $8.50 was worth $11

That’s what it’s all about. You think SOB cares about the part timer?

They pay half the dues and don’t vote. It’s about Amazon and FedEz.

They don’t give a :censored2: about part timers man lol. I didn’t want to be a negative Nancy but that was the vibe i got the whole time. It was a way to get Amazon attention.

Amazon really, FedEx is a pipe dream. The contractor model :censored2:s us for ground, and they'll just burn express down if they manage to lose RLA protection and organize. The new "integration" would just happen to prove soooo successful that they would change their whole model to that just to make it impossible.

Guess who was in charge "before"...!

It didn’t matter. Hoffa did not pursue Wmazon or FedEx. SOB only cares about the part timer is because he wants to pursue Amazon and FedEx.

He even said it himself. He said this is not only about UPS, it is about all labor.

We are the pawns in his grande scheme. And we will pay the price.

What's crazy is that he's promised the "best contract ever." If he got FT raises in line with other recent contracts, and he gets the PT starting wage up close to $20/hr he's done that. With all of the other language and eliminating 22.4s, get even a small increase in the UPS pesion plan and he's done what he promised.

Hell, for all we know he's happy with the PT wage and he's posturing for any little bit more he can get. He'll give us the LBFO with probably the same terms as on July 5 and we'll probably be happy with it.

The last he said about the contract is that ups and the union have a difference in pay of $6-7

And that was only quoted in one interview that ive seen, so I'm not sure that was actually ever said. Not saying it wasn't, but I've only seen it quoted in one interview from a pretty obscure source.

Exactly. Shake hands and let’s vote.

Sounds like it was a direct quote from his interview with these guys

That's exactly what I was referring to. I've looked and can only find it there, in an interview with a relatively obscure outlet.

Edit - for clarity, I looked when it came out and that was the only place I could find anything like it. Haven't bothered since.
