They have been doing this for a long time.....unacceptable!! It boils down to staffing issues....
With all the stupid crap IE comes up with for numbers you think they could do the math on how much money they'd save putting and 18.75 an hour seasonal feeder driver on road as opposed to having idle preloads

Oh don't worry... Have been seeing many many gypos in our yards the last few weeks... Ups obviously haven't hired enough casuals....

Or lime adding an extra preloader so the driver can get out of the building on time.
I guess $52 an hour overtime is cheaper?

These 5-cubes weren't meant to hold 300+ packages. They had to shuttle about 20 of the larger ones out later in the day.
Same here...5 cube and I've got close to 400 pieces...even a 10 year loader doesn't stand a chance...been digging for stops all day and of course finding them later

Pretty accurate picture of how our building is operating. We had one broken belt on small sort yesterday for twilight shift. As a result, they didn't go down until 1:30am. Night sort, which usually starts at midnight, didn't start until 2am. They went down at 6:30am and preload started at 7am. When we drivers arrived, our trucks were practically empty and we didn't leave the building until 10:10am with the same 'air in trace,' directions. Plus we only processed about 60% of the volume, meaning tomorrow will be jacked. Will it be 2013 peak all over again?

Trailer forecast system is screwed up company wide right now. Some brainiac in IE didn't set the right dates for the Black Friday loads so trailers are appearing with no warning and others are missing.

Hell of a start.

We had a 50 footer randomly show up to the center today that was supposed to be there yesterday. Best part is that it was 100%.

We ran our new normal Saturday grounds. Should of been a good head start for Monday. However, those Saturday drivers don't work Mondays. So we were short drivers, so in the end it was another crap show Monday after Turkey day. Maybe next year they will get it right.
