It’s you who needs the education.

Maybe at one time they tried to hide it, but it’s always been political.

As far as the confirmation process goes, that’s just a sign of how pathetic and dysfunctional the Senate has become.

Such a vast amount of ignorance. You really don't understand the Founding Fathers at all...

The government is supposed to have tremendous amounts of gridlock.
You won't read it. I know you won't. But I'll post it anyway. The Avalon Project : Federalist No 51

Specific portions like "Ambition must be made to counteract ambition."
The whole plan is to have stuff like this.

Gridlock isn't the government being broken. It is the government being slowed down so that fads don't fundamentally change the government.

You can drive trucks without being a "dumb truck driver", you know.

Not really ... Joe Biden expressed the convention (called the Biden rule) way back in the 90's that a SCOTUS Appointment should not be made in the last year of a President's reign.
I understand that Dims are frustrated but they started it.
The Dims reaped what they sown ... cause and effect.

Just like Obama packed the US Circuit Court of Appeals and US District Courts by Sen. Reid changing the Senate rules (Nuclear Option), Trump is now filling the SCOTUS by an extension of the Reid Rule (Nuclear Option).

All the angst is a reaction by the Dims for the Nuclear Option which they initiated.

The Repugs still have a way to go to get the US Appeals Courts and US District Courts back in balance from the Dims packing the courts during Obama's reign.

I agree. The democrats started it. Republicans joined the battle and here we are. No end in sight.

I understand. But one party rule doesn’t give nearly the gridlock necessary.

Turdferguson

Just a turd
Beat it.

This place is scary. Everyone has already made up their mind, based on which news outlet they choose to listen to. I always peak in and read, but the politics in here are worse than real life!

When has anyone, anywhere ever changed someones mind about sports or politics?
Name one time someone has said "you know, you make a valid point. I'm going to change my miind".......Never

I do agree with that ... when the Nuclear Rule is applied to pending legislation the USA will have a ping-pong government, jumping all over the place.
As of January 2018, a three-fifths majority vote is still required to end debates on legislation.

The nuclear rule effectively allows the Senate to decide any issue by a simple majority vote, regardless of existing procedural rules such as Rule XXII which requires the consent of 60 senators (out of 100) to end a filibuster for legislation, and 67 for amending a Senate rule.
