Why wouldn't they have you do the work then? They call it training but that is just to cover themselves from a supervisor working grievance.

Who do you think would be faster. A 20 year old PT sup or a 62 year old PT car washer? A new PT sup actually ask that question. Took a FT management person to set him straight. Why wouldn't they have you do the work then?
They will hire them from off the street and there will be no shortage of applicants.
Excessive OT and for 9.5ers, if you want OT you’ll still get plenty. Sky isn’t falling everyone
I 100% agree with that, overblownThe first person who comes to mind....
Will be Johny pizza delivery guy. He's used to working weekends, having no health insurance,
no pension, and won't have to beat his personal car to death.
If the language does pass, it's going to be interesting to see who "opts out" of 9.5.
Personally, I think this whole 22.4 issue has been overblown by outside people.

I was all set to rate this post as "informative", until the last sentence.Of course, you know my standard mantra is TDU.

Who do these people think they are ?
To attempt to hold conference calls with UPS Teamster members ?
The sad part being ....
Lemmings of the Teamster Union, will fall for this BS.
Idealizing communist, marxist principals, and brag about it ?

I know. I just thought it was funnyI hate to break it to you guys, but your "management team" doesn't really manage anything.
They "facilitate" directives, that's it, and it's my belief that they will be directed to reduce planned OT....so kiss your late pickups goodbye.
I'm a bit relieved now. This is going to be my first peak hopefully I can make some good OT. It also helps I still live my parents lol .[/QUOTE Give your mom $500 to do all your Christmas shopping and use the weekends to rest up. Save your money and take February off and go somewhere warm.
Good bye late pick ups and take the Mariners with you.I hate to break it to you guys, but your "management team" doesn't really manage anything.

Join feeder and be guaranteed 55-60 hours a week...I was just wondering because I keep on hearing that with 22.4 drivers. They might take away a lot of our work.

I've been with UPS for 25 years. I've gotten 55-60 hours a week consistently even when I was a "part-timer", through every occasional flavor of the month putting enough drivers in (it does happen). If you want it it will be given to you. There is no way they can force a day off if even one 22.4 is working that day. 100% paid grievance. It blows my mind that people are worried about this. Of course UPS will count on those drivers taking the day if their route is cut. That is the drivers decision.
How many runs does your building have... ??? I’ve never just worked 8 hours while in feeder...even when just covering random work...Not in our building, most of the runs are barely 8 hours.

We have hundreds of feeder drivers here so maybe that is why they maximize everyone...Let correct me myself, we have about 12, most are 40-45, a few get 10+ hours per day. But most get minimal OT.
We can't be sure of that. If this company can give all the ot to 22.4 at $19 a hour or whatever it is don't see why they wouldn't do it. This is the same place that cuts routes the day after Christmas; even though all of us have busted our tails for a month straight.Excessive OT and for 9.5ers, if you want OT you’ll still get plenty. Good luck, first year of peak is a survival experience for new people like you. You can do helper/doubles/triples for 14-18 hours each day but the toll is insane, were talking sleeping in the trunk and never arriving home for multiple days.I'm a bit relieved now. This is going to be my first peak hopefully I can make some good OT. It also helps I still live my parents lol .
What are you kidding? WS has set themselves up to be a human punching bag by you and the rest of the "union lemmings"Of course, you know my standard mantra is TDU.

But if they can advance pt timers into this permanent lesser paid ft position, red circling the pkg car drivers jobs that exist, the 25% (22.4s) will be cheaper labor.Give me a break. Do you really think 22.4s will take OT away? The goal of UPS is to cut routes. It is still cheaper to pay me OT until 9pm than it is to put another truck on the road. They have to pay fuel, wear and tear, drivers pay, pension, etc etc.
