ok so lets just say i work 8 years part-time, then I drive for say 20 years fulltime, If I get tired of driving after say 20 years will they let me switch back to part time until I'm eligible to retire?

No. Almost impossible to go back to PT after being FT. Do you know how many FTers would love to go back to PT and still make $30.00/hr with 7 weeks vacation and full benefits.
