If 2 cops can’t control a dude that was passed out drunk without killing him, there’s a lack of training, general competence or just basic disregard for human life.
Yes they did and they administered a sobriety test which Brooks failed.
So the officer should have stood there and taken being tased? This is what is so difficult about being a police officer. People now assume that it's the police who did something wrong when a minority, especially a black, dies. If a suspect is capable of fighting off two cops and has the mental alertness enough to grab a taser and attempts to use it then he's not a "passed out drunk" like some would have you believe to defend his actions.
a Taser is a less lethal (but not a non lethal) weapon. The suspect was committing felonious assault so the cops had a right to defend themselves. If he had continued running away the cops would have been in the wrong to shoot him in the back but when he turned and aimed at the cops it was all on him.
Unless of course he was a passed out drunk like @It will be fine says. Can't imagine @It will be fine ever lying about such things.
What do you think the sobriety of a man parked in a Wendy’s drive thru was? He was hammered. That doesn’t mean he deserves to die. Your respect for life goes out the window pretty easily when you think it helps your political stance.
But he was drunk on foot! No way they could have issued a warrant and arrested him the next day. He had to die, he committed a crime.
A "hammered" drunk doesn't do what he did. He could have been sleeping in his car for any number of reasons.

His blood alcohol was over the legal limit but not way above. He was asleep for other reasons. Tired from working too many hours? Or drugs in his system? Place your bets on which it was.
It did sound like 3 shots in the video. In probably half a second so 3 isn't much. Not like he emptied the magazine which often happens under stress.
I was referring to Benben altering ItWillBeFine's post to make it look like he was shot in the back. Was he, thought he was shot after turning to face the cop?
I think the shots were fired after he turned and faced the cops.
