Deranged lunatic
I was pretty much told that criticism of the MOU was the equivelant of attacking fellow Teamsters due to it's use as a means of delaying layoffs until 2024 but I absolutely expected headaches to arrive as a result of their interpretation. Nothing black or white about them, the tradeoffs had to come somewhere.

Probably would have been better to be a bit honest and politically uncharged about them so that some of us can at least have some superficial piece of mind. I think a lot of work stress from this year was me being genuinely curious about the circumstances of our contract language and immediately landing in a cage fight.

Today was sweet by the way. My center actually held back Monday work for a positive change. So I wasn't digging all day. Guess they got the point when we all ran out of hours last week. If I'm forced 6 days it won't be that bad if it's like today.

I'm burning off my lunch but it was definitely a decent saturday.

I have a bit of extra optimism in me, though. Us T-S flex drivers have been working 6 days and getting straight time every saturday, despite all of us being over 40hrs in a week due to being forced in on Monday.

From the way I read the Atlantic Supplement, if we're over 40 by Saturday then we should still be making overtime despite it being our scheduled day.

Was just talking about this earlier this morning but haven't brought it to anybody yet. Anybody here have any thoughts or opinions? I think it's clear as day but I know contractual issues are always "open to interpretation."

Tf is a flex driver? Either way it sounds like you're getting hoed.

Flex driver is when you work for free every morning reporting to your truck and waiting for permission to start that could be anytime between schedule and 1 hour or so before. I don’t see how getting your stuff and reporting to work and waiting for instruction is not work but the union tolerates it.

I’m interested what they will do here on December 23rd. They have had around 25 of 95 routes going out the last two Saturdays. I know that day will be much much worse. It’s the only time a driver can get a free 3 day Christmas. All the other workers are being forced to work a 6th punch however.

It's a couple things.

Basically it's the new 22.4.

Tuesday-Saturday are called flex drivers in my center. It's also synonymous with rookie, covid hire and 22.4.

Funny thing about rookies, though-- used to be anyone under two years. Then it turned to anyone under 5 years. Currently it's anyone under 7 years, and if you're a rookie there's a whole lot of extra :censored2: they expect you to do in the AM that is essentially pointless but God help you if you don't scan that QR code and sign the notebook.

Before or after start time?

I don't do anything before start time but drink coffee.
