I don't even know where to begin there is so much smoke and mirrors in your post. Flynn cut a deal to save his skin. So what?? Nothing has changed for him or any of his followers. He is on the sidelines for 8 years. Not the 7 you posted. It may as well be lifetime because by the time he is eligible for reinstatement he will be into his 70's. I get it you and the rest of his worshipers are doing your best to spin innocents but he's guilty. He just basically plea bargained to save everyone embarrassment. The last thing the IBT needs is another scandal and if they can make this go away they will to save themselves from more bad press. So much happened behind the scenes that if your "sources" told the truth Flynn would look weak. My sources have all said he has essentially gone into hiding since his outing. Not that you'd have the courage to agree openly. I also find it amusing that you called Garfield out by name when you are exactly what you claim him to be. You are a follower. You need to serve Pat and his flunkies to feel important. If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black I don't know what is.

Don't know what you mean by "Vacancy election". The Local is in trusteeship. The trusteeship is presumed to be valid for 18 months. At that time, if an election has not been held, the members can file a complaint with the Department of Labor. Absent extenuating circumstances, the DOL will order an election.

The guy who dropped the dime to the IRB to get things rolling against Flynn. THAT guy was knocking down $630,000 a year and messing with agents commission. And now he wants semi-control of the local through Goose and his misfit friends with Coli's help. Yes there is a lot going on behind the scenes and none of it good for the members. Organizing Fed Ex is a pipe dream at best. Flynn has been spoon feeding that for years and apparently you're buying into it. Fed Ex freight is a possibility. The small package division is impossible, especially the ground division. UPS lobbied Congress to change them from the Railway Act and failed with all of their money and influence. So you think now 710 has the ability to do what a billion dollar corporation couldn't do? You're great for a laugh.

An innocent person fights all charges. An innocent person never plea bargins. Pat accepted fault and punishment in a plea bargin. He signed the dotted line and once that happened he told the membership he was guilty. Not sure who you are referring to as sheep but I wouldn't look into a mirror if I was you.

What principled individual takes a plea deal if they are innocent? Yes, lots if people take plea deals and maybe they aren't as malicious as the original charges suggest. Who takes a plea deal admitting fault for a lesser punishment when they are clean?
I don't know what is going on in this situation outside of the discussion in this thread and I am NO Hoffa Jr. supporter but I have a hard time believing that he was entirely on the up and up given what little I know. For all I know, they had every intention of ruining the man but you can bet I wouldn't roll over if I hadn't done wrong. Hell, I don't roll over when I have done wrong... I'm still here after multiple terminations (some I was clean and some I was wrong dead to rights).

For the record back in the '90's during an FedEx organizing campaign, 710 led the nation in signing up FedEx buildings. I believe they had 14 out of 16 bldgs. in the Chicago area signed and ready. More than anyone else in the country. The only reason it never flew was because a Federal judge ruled later that they would continue to be under the Railway Act. Not because what UPS spent (which was very minimal) it's what Fred spent. UPS has always wanted the Teamsters to spend their money on this venture. With the financial debt left from the Carey regime the Teamsters were pretty close to broke and didn't have the money then to take on such an expensive deal nationally a few years later. Timing is everything. Fred has skated on several things and someday it may or may not catch up with him. I know he has out spent UPS by a few billion over several years to stay in their comfort zone. Bottom line is UPS isn't worried about them or they would have done something a long time ago. The thing UPS hates is the difference in stock prices. Despite being a better run company UPS is a poster child for everything Wall Street hates. A union company that makes billions.

The report notes that Flynn’s various explanations for the scheme are not credible. “Flynn essentially claimed that since local funds had been converted into gift cards solely under his control, at that point magically he did not have to account for their use.”
