FICA tax dollars can only be invested in obligations of the US Government which severely limits it's investment options. Like we discussed before Bush wanted to privatize Social Security just ahead of the worst recession in years. Yes, the returns are modest but they are free from stock market speculation, management fees and people constantly borrowing or with drawing from their accounts.Exactly The same uncle Suger he was forced to pay to mismanage his money.
State supported public university or a private university or college which you are free to go to if you have the money and lots of it?i know college eould be ten times cheaper. Simply because i went when the government was not involved and i went back when they were

Of course it's not free but imagine the size of the student loans you would need without public support? Like wise without public support imagine the size of the loan your parents would have to take out just to get you through high school?you think in state colleges are free, you still need school loans

Get the government out of it for one. They hand money out like candy. Two these colleges charge absorbent amounts for classes, need some control om the prices colleges charge. 3 they need to let people kid into their core classes earlier, instead of taking two years of classes you dont needSo just what measures do you think should be taken in order to lower the cost of public education?
So you want price controls? And just who do you think has or should be empowered to set an enforce those controls? BTW. Who is "people kid"? Taking classes YOU think they don't need. Controlling cost is not a degree mill, colleges are overcharging bevause the governments involved. It basically is a monopolySo you want price controls? leave it's money in place . Government does not have a monopoly on public education. There are scores of accredited private colleges and universities out there you can attend if you have the grades and plenty of your own money . In most instances the thing you're not going to get is a private university education at public university tuition rates.
A city thing? NEWS FLASH: Those "city things" are also publicly funded . That's why you didn't have to bring a check along with you in order to enroll on your first day of kindergartenhigh school is a city thing, which is different, i just told you the difference. I went to college when i was 18 and went back when i was 31
But did you turn down any of the public funding assistance offered to you? Now it comes down to this question. Did you attend a private university or a state supported public university?Did you go to college in the u.s, if you did not then you dont know. If you make 2 much money you dont get free money, and just because you go to in state school you dont get free money. Also even if you get free money it dont always cover everything. Peel grants are not handed out to everyone if your income is 2 high. But did you turn down any of the public funding assistance offered to you? Now it comes down to this question.
