Brilliant idea, let’s glorify thug behavior in the Smithsonian!

Via DCist:

Now that the trial of George Zimmerman is over, what will become of the hooded sweatshirt worn by Travyon Martin on the night he was shot and killed? That’s the question posed today in a great Washington Post piece. And while it may be some time before we get an answer, one suggestion means the hooded sweatshirt, a piece of clothing that has taken on greater meaning after Martin’s death, could eventually be on display in D.C.

Lonnie Bunch, the director of the National Museum of African American History and Culture [part of the Smithsonian -ed.], told the Post he’d “love” to acquire the sweatshirt for a collection, an idea endorsed by the Rev. Al Sharpton:

Martin’s hoodie, Bunch said, represents a unique opportunity to further the discussion about race in America. (And, by the way, he’d love to have it for his collection once the legal case plays out. He also has his eye on the hoodie that Marian Wright Edelman, founder of the Children’s Defense Fund, wore in solidarity with protesters.)
“It became the symbolic way to talk the Trayvon Martin case. It’s rare that you get one artifact that really becomes the symbol,” Bunch said. “Because it’s such a symbol, it would allow you to talk about race in the age of Obama.”

Curators, he mused, could “ask the bigger questions” prompted by the case. “Are we in a post-racial age?” Bunch asked, dreaming about how the hoodie might help shape perceptions. Then he answered the question: “This trial says, ‘No.€‰”

T.I. apparently stands for “total ignoramus.”

Via Radio.com:
With the country still embroiled in social and political fallout from George Zimmerman’s acquittal in the Florida slaying of Trayvon Martin, Atlanta rapper T.I. did not mince words when asked about his response to the verdict.

“Man, it was some bull******,” said T.I. during anexclusive interview with Power 98 “Morning Maddhouse” DJ No Limit Larry. Larry caught up with the rapper backstage at the station’sSummerfest 2013 concert, which hosted Lil Wayne’s “America’s Most Wanted” tour featuring T.I. and 2 Chainz when it touched down in Charlotte, NC.

“My hat goes off to the Martin family, because if it was me and my child, there wouldn’t have been no trial,” T.I. continued. “I’d have been on trial. It would’ve been the trial of the father who killed the man who killed [his child]. That would have been my story. My hat goes off because [the Martin family] are much more clear and level-headed thinkers than [myself].”

How will they ever survive?

Via News One:

In a recent interview, singing sensation Chaka Khan (pictured) said she will not perform in Florida, after George Zimmerman’s acquittal in Trayvon Martin’s murder, according to the Huffington Post.

Khan, who recorded a tribute song for Martin in March, decided to take her disdain for the not-guilty verdict a step further, “Well I am boycotting Florida. I had a booking there last week, and I cancelled it. But if any tribute comes up I’ll do it. Absolutely.”

Kahn believes the trial was indicative of the racism that is still alive in America, “Well, the trial, No. 1, was a travesty. Racism is still very much alive and well in this country. It has gone to more of a cerebral state, but it’s alive and well. The new slavery is keeping Black men in jail

The parents did the T.V. circuit about changing the Stand Your Ground law. Funny, but self defense will exist in all 57 states always !!
Actually, the Stand Your Ground law has benefitted more blacks than whites...........but do away with it.....who really cares. Self Defense Rules!!

Zimmerman prosecutor Angela Corey needs to be investigated for wrongful prosecution.

Via Fox News:

The former information technology director for Florida State Attorney Angela Corey is reportedly suing for wrongful termination.
Jacksonville.com reports that Ben Kruidbos sued Corey’s office Thursday, claiming he was illegally fired in June following his testimony that prosecutors did not submit all information to George Zimmerman’s defense team in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26, 2012.

Kruidbos is seeking at least $5 million in damages and his job back.

Kruidbos, according to the lawsuit, could not be fired for testifying in a judicial proceeding in response to a subpoena. It also claims that the firing was retaliation for his testimony in the Zimmerman case.

“It’s important to understand that we’re not just saying my client was wrongfully terminated,” attorney Wesley White said. “We’re also saying that the state attorney broke the law.”

Florida law prohibits firing people for testifying in trials in which they’ve been subpoenaed to testify, White said, adding that the lawsuit should send a message to Corey that she has no right to fire dedicated employees.

Of course, the mural has no relation to reality, and depicts Zimmerman shooting Trayvon in the back of the head, standing next to Martin Luther King, completing the martyr imagery.
Via Breitbart:
A mural of a man who looks like George Zimmerman shooting a likeness of Trayvon Martin was unveiled Friday at the state Capitol of Florida.

A mirror sits in the spot under a hoodie where Trayvon Martin’s face would be, bordered by Martin Luther King, Jr.’s face decorated with streaks of blood.

Miami artist Huong created the 10-foot mural, which carries the message, “We are all Trayvon Martin.”

Strength through joy
Ben Jealous, the president of the NAACP, said on Saturday that “Trayvon’s law” should be enacted across the United States in a speech at the “Realize the Dream March and Rally” in Washington.
“Let us say, ‘Yes we will pass Trayvon’s law from coast to coast,’” Jealous said at the event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.
The NAACP recently released principles for what it would like to see in so-called Trayvon’s Laws at the state and local levels:
Ending racial profiling;
Repealing stand your ground type laws;
Creating law enforcement accountability through effective police oversight;
Improving training and best practices for community watch groups; and
Mandating law enforcement data collection on homicide cases involving people of color.

Notice there isn’t any actual proposed bill on the table, just “principles” that should be in it. It’s not even at “we have to pass it so we know what’s in it” stage. Most of the “principles” of “Trayvon’s law” had no impact in his actual case.
Yet many at the “March On Washington” were carrying “Support Trayvon’s Law” without having any idea of what that “law” would be.

If everyone would quit tearing down the 10 Commandments wherever they are displayed, they'd have those principles displayed everywhere.

Would those laws also apply to the animals that target white people for beatings and murders that have been taking place on almost a weekly basis? Probably not.
