We are starting Tuesday to Saturday work week in August. Those who are lowest on seniority will be a part of the Tues to Saturday work group. For them Monday will be their time and half day.
That is what I have heard as well. Even odds if that actually happens.

Does seniority date mean 1st day driving or hire date? Most people here are saying hire date.
If your a p/timer it's your first day hired, driver, it's your first day driving. I would think if the company tried to force a driver it would be his first day driving, not the day he was hired.

From what I hear it will be 15-25 Drivers per center in our building for Tuesday to Saturday. The will put up a bid sheet first, and fill the rest from bottom up seniority.

Mondays will now be hell on earth. 20+ drivers off, routes cut, extra pickups on routes running. We already have 0 extras on Monday and Tuesday in our center, and we have a driver retiring this week and another going to feeders.

I was speaking with our steward. He is saying most of the t -s jobs will be in large hubs. Our center of 25 routes will probably not get any.

Sounds like 8hr requests are in order, don't honor them get your 2 hr penalty pay and file for another one. You can roll two every 5 days. Meaning you should have all but one Monday covered per month for 8 hr requests if you time it right.

Remember, if they fail to honor it, it doesn't count towards your 8hr honored limit. Worst case scenario you get an extra 2 hours of pay for them denying your 8hr and failing to staff accordingly. BTW, they have to honor up to 10% of the staff's request for any given day.

We only have to give 24 hr notice for our requests.
We can bring stops back to the bldg as missed if it comes down to it.
We have never had drivers playing the request-penalty game here, but it might become a reality with this T-S shift.

If I choose to do so, could I request each Monday on the prior Friday, and file for 2 hrs every week? Why would you not have every Monday covered with an 8 Hr...Does your request have to be in more than 24 hrs in advance in your area?

The new guys will be clueless and come in Saturday only to be sent home without pay and told to come in Monday, if they staff incorrectly. Someone needs to tell them that if management then tells them to come in Monday it will be at 1 1/2x pay.

How will they cover vacations? If the Tues - Sat is on vacay, a higher seniority driver might have to cover?
Would the cover driver then get 1 1/2 for that Saturday even though it is only 5 punches? How does it work in feeders with their shifting start times?

Was told this morning that Mon-Fri schedule and Tues-Sat schedule will be put up for bid starting in September. Straight time Saturday in the T-S schedule. Off Sunday and Monday.

Looks like this is gonna happen.

What region and what supplement?

Ups is attempting to take away the last thing we have. Weekends. You people who need to run errands good for you, that's what I use option days for. I have a huge problem giving them my Saturday's which are spent with family and friends in an exchange for Monday when family and friends are working. :censored2: that :censored2:
