I didn't know that, thanks Cove, I just always loved that baseball card. Pumpsie Green, imagine that. Thanks Cove.:thumbup1:
The Sox were the last team to field a negro player ,, shameful , they passed on Henry Aaron , Boston Braves took him. And they passed on Jackie Robinson , both had a try out at Fenway

My condolences for the cali part.
we do have Joe Montana ......the true GOAT.......on no...there I go. between Joe and Tom I would take Joe anytime to win the game in the last minute of the game. Joe Cool . 4 and 0 inthe Super Bowl and one win away taking the the medocre KC Chiefs tohis 5th SB.

BTW if SF had kept Montana one more year , he would have his 5th ring , nit that idiot Young.

Did not mean to derail. Go back to Boston Talk.

Thank you, i do know, you are more gracious than I would have been. I do know. Most feared hitter in AL for a time between him and Harmon Killebrew. Thanks for your graciousness.
he won the batting title the very next year also with a .301 average. during the year of the pitcher.

You're not a true 49er fan if you call Young an idiot. A hall of famer in his own right. That whole debacle wasn't his fault.

I'm a Yankee fan, this is a baseball thread. I'm not complaining or bitching. I love a fan with passion, you have it. BTW, I'm a Green Bay fan, they have a great history also, a couple of goood QB's as well.
My old girlfriend, after I divorced adored Joe Montana, he kicks Brady's ass in my mind. Different era, I'd take Montana over Brady any day. My opinion.

He did, and off the top of my head 49 homers 121 rbi's, with the .301 avg .. triple crown. Awesome player. I stand to be corrected on his numbers, they were out of my declining memory.

he won batting champ in 1968 with .301 avg. no triple that year.
