parcelboy, go to your funds website and go to the pension calculator. If you dont know your fund, your union "should know"

I agree part time, but the only people who get the rewards are the constantly injured because they are constantly catered to.

To find a good doc, ask your UPS comp person. i know that sounds strange, but I agree with UPSDUDE. I recovered the best when they found me an expert in the field of my injury. I reinjured my ankle 3 times, and once they found me a specialist, and I was under his care, I really healed and strengthened and I have not hurt it in 6 yrs!

Here is my advise to you, take the setlement UPS offer you, that way some of us who actually want to work for a living can get full-time jobs, and not have to wait for the always hurt driver who works 1 day and then off for 6 months.

All that typing yet nobody can explain why UPS DIADS could scan Momentum barcodes? or why Momentum buuilding were located on old UPS centers, or why Momentum delivery notices look just like ours? Funny how all that is just chance?

We have experience with the 9.5 language out here in Oakland. We have a driver here that won the first case tried at national. You need to file a grievance asap that is the only way you will get your dispatch looked at. You need to get a copy of your timecard everyday you work over 9.5 paid hours. Your planned dispatch does not matter, the grievance is based on how long it takes you to do the work, PERIOD. The language doesn't care if your route measures on paper. This driver in our building had at least 15 rides from management to try to say this person wasn't using proper methods. The yes-men at panal deadlocked at every level, then looked liked a bunch of idiots in front of their superiors at national. All reports from the rides could not come up with any problems with methods or work pace. Now this drivers dispatch is monitored somewhat closely, but you know UPS, they say one thing but do another. There are still days that this driver works over 9.5 and the center team just plays dumb. They add splits and shuttle packages. They pull cars off road but have drivers shuttle all day with DIAD boards, used only for communication with the center and they are not allowed to deliver any packages. The PAS system has cut time allowances for all duties you do as a driver so the comapay says we need to be doing more work in the same amount of time as before. The time allowanc cuts are pretty dramatic. I don't think we have one car in our center that measures 8 hours. As of this date the grievance is going to be put back on because Labor will make an agreement at panel but Operations does not honor the agreement. The bottom line is that if you are going to survive, for any amount of time at this place, as a driver, you need to take care of yourself. File a grievance and have the matter dealt with because noone is going to do you any favors in this area

My Diad could not scan one of their barcodes,I tried. Cod tags looked similar also. That Dick Tracy detective kit sure has done you well Munch.
Anyway havent seen Momentum in my area for a couple of weeks. I heard they are out of buisness.
This could be the reason in my area for the Staples volume going through the roof.

Staples is giving us more volume so they can reduce the number of delivery drivers on their payroll. They keep the larger deliveries but give us many of the smaller ones. Employees are expensive, and corporations are trying to work with as few employees as possible. This has resulted in a lot more paper on our trucks, rising noticably the last six months.

just a quick update.
So far, still waiting for the final word.
Been on nights, my old position for the last week, training my replacement. My old partner's mother is real sick, and I told him and the night sup. if he had to go before my replacement was ready, I would come back and help train.
Work is so much easier, but I am ready to get back to mornings. I could actually see my muscles coming back, and now they are gone again.
one positive, my man came by my business to thank me the other day for covering for him, and it does not sound good for him mom, so as sad as it is, it felt good giving him the opp. to spend time with her.
one other, I asked them manager if I could work a double or 2, so my body would not hurt so bad when I returned, and she said I may not have to if they get the sup. thing pushed through. (crossing fingers) c'mon HR manager!!

Rewarding people for not getting injured is seen as a bribe to not file an injury report when you need to.

I am probably stating the obvious--When you have your blood pressure taken, make sure you wear a short sleeve shirt, or take your shirt off. I had my annual "personal" physical today, and the nurse took my BP over my shirt--136/90. When the doctor came in, I told him I was a little concerned; so he took it again with my shirt off--114/82.

He also told me that when getting a DOT physical, that it really helps if you can sit and relax for a couple of minutes, before your BP is taken...

Well.....as the "situation" stands, the Doc in a box, called the center and has stated that my DOT card is now only good for one month....yet, I haven't heard from UPS Doc's in Atlanta yet, I hear they are still reviewing the test results...

Exactly, and I have seen people intimidated not to file an accident/injury report, because it would be counted against them, well thats great if it doesnt develop into a problem, and most times people work through their "small" injuries and it doesnt, but what happens if it does? You did not report it, too late. Against the unknown, I say call it in.
